Well... That was interesting. I've never been to an Irish pub that doesn't play Irish music. We waked in to Annie Lennox's *Broken Glass*; I should have known that didn't bode well. Or server was friendly, but when we had to send back an uneatable Fish & Chips order (we were served very dry Cod rather than the listed Halibut-- trust me; a fisherman knows) she asked "why would you say that?" hmmm. She did replace it with a burger. Eh. They seem to have a serious aversion to seasoning their food and my GOD the music has gone from out-of-place to just damn AWFUL. sigh... Only come here if you're VERY hungry and don't have many taste buds to speak of. :-/

Best for us was the smoker's patio and we don't smoke.. The pub was very noisy. We were looking for peaceful. I know. Why would we look at a pub for peaceful? Well, my wife wanted Shepherd's Pie. She got it and peaceful to boot. The smoker's didn't bother us a bit. The patio is out back and surrounded by vine covered walls with a fireplace. After dark one of the staff lit the fireplace and the patio became even cozier. The Shepherd's Pie was huge and delicious. My ribeye steak was just ok. Not complaining. I wasn't expecting a great steak in an Irish pub. And it satisfied my craving for some meat and potatoes. The staff were all friendly.

Waited 10 mins to be offered something to drink on a not so busy saturday afternoon. 12$ for 6 teeny pieces of frozen calamari and i wanted to burn that MF'er down. We ended up leaving and heading to the blue beet in newport since they rule. Never again.

They changed the tri-tip recipe :( It's nothing like it used to be. Now it's just 3 cuts of tri-tip with zero seasoning or sauce. It was still good when I added some HP sauce to it, but it's nothing like it used to be. No longer my fave thing on the menu, probably wouldn't order it again.

Service was good. Guinness was good. Everything else was bad. Really bad. Shepherds pie was made with frozen veggies and the lamb was over cooked. Sausage was under cooked and one of our party was throwing up later that evening. Maybe ok if you're just drinking Guinness but don't go there for the food.

Always love a pub with decent food options that won't make me feel too bad for ordering one (or two) of exactly what I came for - the delicious (non-light) beers on tap. My personal favs for both are the chicken wrap (with some revisions that they're always happy to make) and the Lagunitas IPA. The hubby's a fan of the Irish fare and is slowly making his way through all of the offerings. If you need more reasons, the atmosphere's pretty fun, and you can catch your favorite game on TV. Oh, did I mention it's in Seal Beach? I haven't experienced the poor service that some yelpers have encountered. I'll just count myself lucky on that one.... Enjoy!

I hate to do this, but my boyfriend and I had a horrible lunch experience today. I love burgers, so we like to try new places and O'Malley's sounded good. (Mind you we are huge food people being in the industry.)We order our burger Medium/Medium Rare and they arrive and it is probably the weakest burger I've ever seen. The meat was well done, the cheese was not melted on the patty, it said it came with thousand island dressing which in fact there was a teaspoon amount on the burger bun. Next I had added a salad to my order instead of fries, which they charged me $1 extra for just lettuce & dressing!! It was ridiculous. I'd have to say, the worst burger and lunch my boyfriend and I have ever had. I must say on a better note, the service was fine. Maybe it would be better at a another time, but I don't think we will be back.

Ok, this is NOT an Irish pub. It isn't supposed to be. It's a place to eat with a bar. The service is good. We were seated quickly and with a smile. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She suggested the O'Malley's Potato Scrambler. She was right. It was awesome. The eggs Benedict is good as is the Traditional Irish Benedict. The prices aren't out of control and the food is worth it. We were there on a Sunday and it was fun to sit and watch the games and you can tell that the place is full of regulars. With good reason, it's a fun place.

Food is just o.k. Service can be somewhat slow. It is as if the servers dont really care. I felt they did not know the menu and were confused at times. Spend your money elsewhere.

Went in for dinner. In our travels in Cali/beach towns, we have found the service to be terrible, but it was fine here. The waitress was managing several tables who sat down at once and did a good job. The chili was really tasty and spicy. My husband had the fish and chips and was surprised how good it was. We went back on a Saturday night and it was just too packed/loud for us. Depending on what you want, consider going early or during the week for a quieter dinner experience- later and weekends for more of a 'party' atmosphere.

I came here for the 2nd or third time last weekend. I always seem to forget about downtown Seal Beach. When thinking about places to go out in Orange County, we always seem to pick either Huntington, 2nd in Long Beach, or Fullerton. But Seal Beach is always a blast for me. I came here with a friend for lunch last Saturday. There were plenty of open tables so we got seated right away. Cold BudLight and Blue moon got to the table immediately. After needing over ten minutes to peruse their large menu, I decided on the chicken teriyaki sandwich. Don't ask me why I ordered a chicken teriyaki sandwich in an irish pub - I was just feelin' it. I believe my lunch date ordered the Ruben sandwich after a few suggestions from the server. Our food came pretty quickly. And it was delicious! My chicken was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of teriyaki glaze and pinneapples. His Ruben was ginormous, and he scarfed it down. The food here definitely impresses. Our bill was 45 bucks - a little pricier than I normally like to pay for two sandwiches and two draft beers, but you get what you pay for. Yum! P.S. I've also been here a time or two before to drink on the weekends - it as a little crowded, but average for a pub. Service was good then, too.

Went today for lunch with my mom in law and girlfriend. Drinks were good enough for a second round - sea breeze and madras. Each of us enjoyed our food as well - a veggie burger, candied walnut and berry salad, shrimp cocktail. What really impressed me was the service. I am using a walker currently (surgery) and one of the kitchen staff rushed out of the kitchen to catch the ladies room door for me. They forgot the bleu cheese on my salad and it was corrected immediately - with an apology and a smile. Everyone was attentive, checking on us repeatedly and filled all requests quickly. The staff today set this place apart from most restaurants I have visited in the past few years. Made going out a real treat!

It's a cool place that has awesome Irish bread pudding and good drinks. We only came in to drink at the bar, hoping to hang out in the patio but the Navy officers were celebrating the Captains retirement. Got a booth instead and the guys got beer and scotch. I got a Washington Apple, it was a bit on the strong side but who am I to complain? lol The waitress was nice and the drinks came out pretty fast. It has cool Irish pub decor and it seems like it has a steady stream of customers coming in and out which is an awesome sign. Overall really like the place.

Overall, this place sucked. Waaaaaay too expensive for the combination of lackluster service, crap food, warm beer (unless youre into that authentic euro/uk warm beer thing). Otherwise decor was nice, ambience pleasant, but you are near a beach where nature does that for you. Go somewhere else.

this place does not even deserve a star. they served a drink we did not want and then did not even bother to change it. worst place in seal beach

Just don't order the Chinese Chicken Salad. I know, I shouldn't have ordered this in an Irish Pub, and I'm sorry I did. The salad was DROWNING in dressing, very little chicken, canned mandarins added to the overly sweet taste. Lettuce was old. Yuck. I would have given it one star but Hubby had the fish and chips-smart man. He gives this place 3 stars for the big chunk of halibut, so, an average of 2.

Sometimes it can get a bit crowded, and the music can be too loud (hence the 4/5) but overall it's that one place where "everyone knows your name." It's that bar where I can wear jeans and flip flops to. Love it! As for the food....well we've only order apps like nachos and fries, but they were yummy! But I hear their breakfasts are great! Can't go wrong here, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and mostly friendly people inside :)

Been a local here for years. I dont really eat the food here because i mainly come here to socialize and have drinks(late-night hours). BUT I will say the onion rings are killer!!! The staff is super tight and friendly. I always bump into people i know here so thats a plus. Overall, a good friendly local spot to have drinks and hang out.

I found myself looking for a god place to enjoy some Fish and Chips. I talked my daughter into trying O'Malley's. The service was very good, attentive and fast. I ordered a black and tan and it came out quickly with a perfect pour. We ordered the Irish Sausage Roll appetizer because it says right on the menu they are "TO DIE FOR". In my opinion, not so much. My salad cam e out and it was fresh and tasty and my daughter had ordered a cup of chili. The server warned us that it was spicy and it was good that she did. It came out with huge chunks of beef and jalapenos. Our main orders came out quickly and I really liked the fish and chips. The breading was nice and crispy and the chips were thick and hot. The tarter sauce was good. I say all in all it was a very pleasant dinner with above average service. My only complaint is that it is a bit expensive. Also the noise level is a bit high but I can't dock them for that as it is an Irish Pub that serves food. All in all a four star.

Alright. It's an Irish pub. Time to warm up the ol' stomach. How do you judge a irish pub? If you're first response isn't: "By their Guinness you clatty chancer!" then you and I cannot be friends. After a taste (i mean...a whole pint) of their cold cold cold Guinness =)...and then another "taste" (what?? i was a "tursty lad"!) my friends and I ordered the food. I had to try the fish and chips because I LOVE fish and chips. At 17 dollars, it's pretty pricey but they do use Halibut and not cod so I understand a price hike. It comes as an entire single fried filet. It was good but just slightly on the overcooked side. But it was a definite help that they had malt vinegar, HP sauce, and tartar sauce, and soon to be mention Colman's mustard. We also tried their apparently "to die for" Irish sausage rolls. They were okay, but I'm so glad that they had the good old Colman's mustard. It actually made the sausage rolls twice as good haha. They, however, are not to die for. We also ordered the corned beef dinner which was served, of course, with boiled potatoes and boiled cabbage. It was pretty good although the corned beef could have been cut with better care and by better care, I mean thinner, and by thinner...I just mean so that it's not the size of a meatloaf when it comes out. That's just me being lazy though. It could also use a larger potato and a larger wedge of cabbage. Come on O'Malley, no need to be such a tight lad. What's a pub for though? Some decent food and some decent beer. The beer was cold and it was in a proper pint so I'm happy. They could use a few more tv's but the crowd was pretty quiet so it's a nice place to relax. They even have a courtyard and a fireplace. Cozy. I'll be back for more Guinness.

O'Malley = O' So Slow Service! It was a chilly Thursday night and we were looking for some good O' hearty food and decided to stop by O'Malley. The place was probably 40% occupied and it took us 20 minutes to be waited on. Even though the service was slow, I have to say they serve a MEAN bowl of chili, a Killer Fish and Chip, and Heart Warming Shepherd pie. The chili had large chunks of meat with Jalapenos to give it that extra kick. The fish was perfectly battered and the halibut melted in your mouth. The Shepherd pie was just plain average. They do have a great beer selection. Overall, the food and the frosty beverages made up for the service!

We have been going to O'Malley's since we moved to SoCal 13 years ago. Today was the last time. The rap on O'Malley's is that they have decent food but horrendous service. This is absolutely true. We ate there for lunch today. We were served a beer and, while waiting for our food, our glasses were taken for a refill. Our food came. No beverage. Finally when we were almost finished eating our waitress showed for the first time since we ordered and, when we complained about not having anything to drink with our food, instead of saying, "I'll fix this." gave us a pile of rude attitude. We've had it and so should you. There are far better places to eat in Seal Beach. FInd them. This place sucks!

Food was horrible. Nachos tasted like burnt toast. Bartender was rude and made racist comments! Won,t go back.

For this review i am only commenting on the drinks and service because i did not order any food. When we first walked into O'Malley's it looked nice and comfortable. The lights were dimmed with music playing. One guy checked our ID's as we were coming in and told us to sit anywhere we liked. We sat at the table near the fireplace because it was a cold night. Our waitress was cute which was a good thing so i had a hard time deciding on a drink. My friends got a Black and tan, rum and coke, and then i ordered my Tokyo Tea. My drink was pretty good, strong and good. Then i got a shot and my friend got a sea breeze. The bill came out to $30 and since it was pretty good service we tipped well. A few of my friends came later and they got a couple of beers before we left to walk the beach. I will probably come back again with the same friends or bring my Irish friends so they can get their Irish beer. Parking is usually really bad, but recently it hasn't been bad. I was thinking maybe it was really cold outside and since it's near the beach, it's freezing.

This is a classic Irish Pub with great food, too! I'm trying not to drink beer, but couldn't resist the draught Guiness. Great hamburger. I had the mahi mahi special, which was served on greens with veggies, and it perfectly hit the spot.

We went for breakfast, and we were not impressed. It was overpriced for the taste and amount of food served. The best part of our experience is the location. We drove by on a Saturday night, and the place was hopping! Could be a fun night out.

Sub par on what we ordered. I had chili cheese baked potato. Came with hardly any chili. My son liked the fish and chips. Service was average. Wife had half blt with salad, also so so. Wouldn't go again.

Finally came here the other night with some friends, and it was packed! Great selection of beers, the staff is very friendly and attentive- they are very aware of when you are in need of another drink! TV's are posted all around so you can catch a game! Not sure about the food, but i'm sure it would be good.

Haven't been here in a few years, but let me say that the place has changed. My family & I stopped in for breakfast on Saturday morning around 10am. The place was surprisingly empty & now I know why. As we were promptly greeted & seated by a friendly hostess, that was it for about the next 10 minutes. No drink order or "I'll be with you in a minute". While we're waiting for some service, there are 4 waitresses hanging out at the server station laughing & giggling and testing a bloody mary. So far we're not pleased & are not in the mood to go somewhere else & start over....especially with a hungry 5 year old. After flagging down a waitress that was working, we were able to get some drinks followed by another waitress coming over for our order. The food made it out in a timely manner & was decent, but nothing spectacular. All 3 plates were warm, but that's it. My girlfriend's eggs benedict was fair & my country Benedict was about the same. Our daughter loved her pancake & sausage link, but didn't touch her eggs. I can't say as I can blame her since they looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile based on their color & overall appearance. Over the course of the meal, we were quickly passed over by our waitress to see if the food was ok, but not even a 2nd look otherwise. A refill on our coffee was never offered, I had to ask for it when I requested the check. All in all, I don't know if we'll give it another chance. The combination of poor service and mediocre food doesn't sit well when shelling out my hard-earned cash at a service-based business. If we do go back & things are better, I'll be sure to provide an update.

Great music if you like loud djs playing the late 90's to current top 40. Drink service was good, but the mix drinks were a little weak for my liking. Would go back again, but be prepared for some second hand smoke from the people smoking out just outside.

I"m so annoyed that I'm tempted to give only one star, but that would be MEAN. And because I'm really NICE, two stars it is. Having said that, let me get into the details. We first came here about a year and a half ago. Good time (which isn't hard if you're getting drunk, and chances are, if you're at an Irish pub, you're probably getting drunk), decent service and no watered-down drinks. The last lunch I had here a couple months back was also similarly good - so tonight's dinner let-down was truly a disappointment. I ordered the shrimp and scallop "healthy" dinner, which came with two - count 'em, two - shrimp. And in an apparent attempt to keep the shrimp from feeling lonely on that big plate, included were the two - count 'em, two - scallops. The four of them were plopped there amongst the greens, looking shrunken and forlorn, two pathetic couples on a dismal double date. To make things worse, when I asked to substitute the shrimp/scallop duo for a different meal, the server had to ask another server who had to ask the manager ... so I said forget it. My friend ordered the chocolate lava cake, which was soggy (not in a good way) and was less than lava-licious. Boyfriend ordered also the "healthy" fish - which to O'Malley's credit - served a normal portion of mahi. I also give them a plus for having the UFC fight on one TV while other screens were devoted to the Dodgers v. Cubs. All in all - come here for the drinks and atmosphere if you must, but don't make dinner the key item on your agenda.

O'Malley's gets a solid 2 points on my personal "St. Patometer Irish Pub Scale" which breaks down as follows: 1 - We serve Guinness, that's Irish - right? 2 - Some Irish folks hang out here, we're sort of a mesh between Irish pub and sports bar - we definitely show soccer though. 3 - We only serve Guinness. We only watch soccer. You're not a regular here? Get the eff out! I really liked that they had some healthy options on their menu which is tough to come by at bars altogether, not to mention Irish pubs and they're new-fangled "Irish Nachos." Service was always efficient and the crowd seemed pleasant enough. There was a good mix of regulars and folks just stopping by, meaning the record player doesn't come to a screeching halt with everyone turning to gape at you if it's your first time there. Thumbs Up: -Different menu options - including some healthy choices. -Friendly crowd. -Good service. -Plenty of beer options. Thumbs Down: -Drinks and food are a little pricey for my liking. -Parking is a bitch.

Fish Tacos are delicious, fresh, and decidedly NOT fishy. Service is generally attentive. Go on a weeknight to avoid the crowds.

An Irish bar that usually gets a pretty decent crowd. There are two rooms, one with pool tables and darts with its own bar. Another room is more lounge and has a bigger bar... The prices are OK.
(3)
Rachel S.
O'Malley's is noisy, which is to be expected of an Irish Pub, so if you are looking for a quiet place to have dinner, this probably isn't it. I'm do enjoy the grilled halibut with rice , fish and chips, and their shepherd's pie, however other items I have ordered are just so-so and they don't season their vegetables.
(3)
Enea O.
I do like this place but the booze is getting expensive. I wish they could lower their prices on wines. It would help because sometimes I don't want to just drink beer. My husband and I have come to this particular location for years--even when it was Hennesey's many years ago. The decor is definitely Irish and feels good. I do like their appetizers--they are yummy! I am willing to try to eat there for lunch but the booze prices gotta go down. For now, I am going to Gallagher's in Long Beach. They don't have to raise their prices to keep alive. That's why they moved. Maybe it's time that O'Malley's thinks about doing the same thing...

I have been here hundreds of times but have never sat for dinner. This review is only for the bar side of things. The bar is usually crowded with locals. I have a good time running into friends from my childhood. For most, this place will come off as a very solid irish pub with outdoor chill area. They have this mysterious little rental unit in the back of the outdoor area. Such a waste! It would be much better suited as my personal bachelor loft!

Had a nice date their last Saturday. Really like all the variety of appetizers and menu items. Everything we tried was delicious (the shepherd's pie was bland looking, but actually tasty). The service was great.

This is the most well rounded gastro pub (Irish) in 30 miles of beach area..only Kings Head on Santa Monica is better. Great for brunch order the crab cake benedict on special if you can.

I've been here in the morning, noon and night, and can honestly say I've never had a good time. The food is alright, but nothing to write home about. The service is decent at best. I'd rather eat somewhere else when I'm on Main St.

I choose this place over Hennessey's across the street because the service is better... much better. I recommend the burgers which is all I've ever eaten there. They are delicious and the french fried onion rings are awesome!! This place seems clean and friendly and cozy and just simply a great place to drink, eat, hang out with friends. I recommend it.

Pretense.. pretense pretense. Lots of drunkards here and lots of Irish people. Watch out they do not know how to stop at one.. they close the fuckin place. Bar staff is gossipy and actually told me about a bartender who worked there who went home to Ireland for a visit and got tossed in Prison for being part of the IRA. It is a true story, but is it there place to be telling me this? I don't care.

I'm a fan! They had a Hawaiian burger which they replaced with a gardenburger patty for me and it was so good! Also they had a lot of Irish food, which my companions enjoyed very much. Fun Irish pub atmosphere. Downtown Seal Beach is a fun place, and this is a great pub!

I find myself here more often than a sea gull find itself in a dumptser, yet I keep going back. Seal Beach is quickly becoming one of my favourite areas of southern California. It just has that certain je ne sais quoi about small town on the sea. And then there is O'Malley's. Its always good for a nice drink on any night. The staff is always friendly and the apps aren't bad. i've never actually had full on food here, but it looks nice and sometimes makes me crave a good burger. Fat Tire there is great on tap, there is a decent selection of other beers and a full bar to boot. Its comfy, I always end up leaving having consumed more calories in liquid form than I have all week. Love it.

Chrissy K.
I really like this place, upbeat music, beautiful setting, decent service and great food, The Fish & Chips.. AWESOME. They also have a great selection of draft beer. Like Clam Chowder, you have to have theirs it's awesome as well. It get's much louder after 8pm or so, but it is a bar! The prices are decent, $10-$15 unless you want to get fancier, like tri-tip, then maybe a few bucks more, but well worth it. If you are looking for a chill Irish Pub on Main street, check it out!

The hubby likes to go here so off we went on Sunday night. I had the meatloaf with mash potatoes and steamed broccoli and cauliflower (not my favs). My meatloaf was too dry so I dumped ketchup on it to make it eatable. I have to give it to O'Malleys for one thing though.....they do know what it takes to make mashed potatoes!! They were the best thing on the plate - pure creamy puffs of potato with little chunks! Yummy good stuff....unfortunately, they were the only good thing on my plate. Maybe I am just ordering the wrong stuff when I come here. Anyone got a favorite dish at O'Malleys that I should try the next time I am here???

Good place for breakfast or lunch. Good eggs Benedict, and good Irish Benedict. Decent Mexican dishes, very good bleu cheese burger and very good chili dog. Decent service, good Bloody Marys.

I would have given this place five stars if our server wasn't such a slacker. Anyway, just went last week for the first time and for the most part I dig it. Good food, cool decor and people. It was the day after Thanksgiving so it was pretty packed, but there's plenty of seating so it wasn't that big a deal. And they had enough TV's, so it worked out for the peeps who wanted to finish watching the game. I don't know, maybe if you're in a smaller group the service would be better. But I'm sure it's cool earlier in the day.

They have great food and a friendly bar atmosphere. This place is fun for lunch or good times at night for drinks and appetizers. I like their fish and chips and my boyfriend says they have a great burger. So far, everything on their menu has been good. Plus, they have a good atmosphere with it being an irish pub and all. The place is well maintained and is in a good location by the beach and cool shops downtown.

At here for the first time...food is OK. Liked the mashed potatos, but the chick was average at best. This is a place for beer and spirits.

Its a pub with another pub across the street from it, but I much prefer the food & atmosphere at O'Malley's. When I want to venture away from Belmont Shore, have a good glass of wine (they have a pretty good list) and grab dinner w/ a friend - we typically end up here. Its not crazy loud, and it has a comfortable feeling. Have had a burger, their irish stew, green salad, fries.... all good stuff! Update: 9/07 - Came here for lunch w/ a friend over the weekend & split the turkey sandwich. Was good...but mostly just loved our server. She was so nice and friendly. Makes what a beach town should be... thanks Heather!

Good food, great fish and chips. Totally huge pieces. They got the Guinness flowing. It's a Irish Bar for Patrick's sake. They can pour the black and tan. But once I asked a waitress there if they showed Celtic FC games. Celtic FC is a soccer team based in Glasgow. It was created over 100 years for Catholic Irish immigrants in Scotland. Their rivalry with Rangers, the Protestant team has been a proxy war for Catholic v. Protestants, Irish v. British, Northern Irish Republican v. Loyalists, Green v. Orange...the list goes on and on. The team means a lot for the Irish in Scotland, Ireland, England and in the USA. Well, after asking specifically about Celtic FC of Glasgow...she said, "You mean the basketball team?"....Anyways, good food and beer..it's a bit pricey though. Good atmosphere and OC always has a good share a beautiful women. Slainte!

Since Ye Olde King's Head in Santa Monica has switched to cod, O'Malley's now has the best fish and chips in the area. Fresh Alaskan Halibut, yummy chips, HP brown sauce already on the table--almost perfect albeit a bit pricey. Their Reuben is another of my favorites. As for the rest of the establishment, it's decor and vibe is fairly authentic for an Irish pub--not too much shamrock silliness going on here. Their patio out back is great as well, with a fireplace and plenty of shade for night and daytime debauchery. And they pull a pretty good pint of Guinness too! There are a lot of pubs to choose from in Seal Beach--I choose O'Malley's
(4)
Eric V.
Great place to grap a pint in Seal Beach. I usually just come here to drink, but the times I have tried the food it has been ok. I love the outdoor patio, but I hate the smoke. Walt's Wharf down the street has some great sea food. Get some food from Walt's, then walk down the street to O'Malley's for some after dinner drinks!
(4)
C S.
Really, don't go here for food unless you're just drunk or super freaking hungry. Just get the beer!
(2)
Lisa Z.
I still like O'Malleys, but it's not as great in my mind as it used to be. I still wish I could order the Blue Cheese burger a lot, but usually don't because I want to still be able to fit into my jeans! I've had some hit and miss experiences with the food here. The beef stew was a definite "miss" - mostly big pieces of boiled potato and very little beef or carrot or onion. The gravy tasted like it came from a package, not homemade. The service here tends to be slow if you can't get a seat at the bar. And it usually seems like that isn't available. The bartenders are friendly enough here. But, the food's a little on the expensive side for what you get. The beer is cheaper in other watering holes in Seal Beach. O'Malley's is still better than the chain Hennessey's across the street, though. I'd rather go to Clancy's though if it's just for drinks. I'd definitely rather go to the Abbey for beer and food, than O'Malley's, now.

We went there on new years day monday after a family bike ride. The service was great, the food was good, the beer was cold AND they had the ducks football game on. A win win all around.

First off, gotta say I love Seal Beach! That being said, me & a couple of buddys sauntered in after toasting the sun slowly dipping into the Pacific one night. Seems like a local's haunt. Average service, lotsa different beers to be sure and the steak fries were seasoned & tasty. Pretty loud if you just want to relax @ kick it...Oh, wading through 'smokers alley will leave you breathless too...

We were looking for a new place to eat and decided to try O'Malleys. It was really good! The meatloaf was like mom's and the garlic mashed potatoes were outstanding. Service was great too. Our food came out quick and drinks were always full. Portions were good size - not too big or small. Price for dinner was reasonable. They don't charge $4 for a soda which was nice. The feel of the place was good too - relaxing.

I really enjoy pubs. In fact, I enjoy pubs so much that sometimes I'll overlook mediocre food in favor of good beer and ambiance. Which is what you get here. It's nothing spectacular, but what pub is? It's just a very chill place to take people for a drink after (or before) a walk on the pier or beach. Basically, the food is what you'd expect of a pub. The best bang for the buck are the sandwiches and burgers - personally, I'd avoid the entrees. I got the shepherd's pie last time I was there and was disappointed. It was actually not a pie. No crust. Just lamb stew in a bowl with too many mashed potatoes on top. It's cases like this that I wish I could give them 3.5 / 5 stars. Look at it this way: if you want an unexpectedly good dinner, it's 3 stars. If you want great drinks, people to gawk at, and decent grub on the side, it's 4 stars.

This is my favorite bar to go to on Main St. in Seal Beach. Great service and awesome beer!!! My favorite beer to get here on tap is SMITHWICK'S. Exterior of the building is beautiful. Now, the interior is even MORE amazing. It has a nice wooden interior with a wonderful fireplace inside to get warm after a night swim at the beach. Glossed wooden bar counter with Derry flags. Owner might be from Northern Ireland, not sure.

fucking ADORRRRABLE set up. the backyard area is gorgeous. very nice atmosphere. like a little village courtyard. but fuck those drinks are expensive. and that crowd ain't really my thing. i felt like i was holding back my natural drunken self because these people would not enjoy it. and honestly, i'd rather be drinking a $2 40oz in a dirty backyard with my friends at a party and some guy pissing his name out on a wall.

Fish and chips were AWESOME. Yea, it was a little expensive. It's rare to get halibut as the fish in fish and chips, and it was great. Chips were "real" English chips, the thick kind you can soak with vinegar. Salad was standard. Service was really good, everyone very friendly, and Main St. on Seal Beach is a fun place to hang on the weekend, like a mini Belmont Shore. I'd go back to try something else.

I've always loved this place. The employees are great. The wood paneling, fire place and furniture make it feel as if you're in an actual Irish Pub. They have a wide selection of beers and several large flat screens to watch as you suck them down. The food is "so so" which is the only reason I don't give this place 5 stars.

Clean bathrooms. Good drink prices. Variety. Music. It is no wonder that I have spent many a night before Thanksgiving in the annual reunion tradition at this place. Its a great atmosphere where one can go in for a decent meal or go late for a fun party.

Don't go here. Everyone that works here thinks they run seal beach or something but no one that even works there lives in seal. No love here if u want to just have some fun with friends and have a few drinks....just a bunch of tuff guys and girls that think they know everything here.

I love the Seal Beach Main Street strip of shops and bars... I use to visit here more often when I lived a little closer, so I have some pretty good memories of this place. Recently, while waiting for the BBQ place to seat us, a friend and I went into O'Malley's to grab some good beer and people watch. O'Malleys was just how I remembered it- young male bartenders and a variety of people as patrons. We grabbed a high table and ordered some Newcastle and Guinness, which was served in its appropriate glassware (plusses for that!). There were youngsters out for a fun night, seniors out on date-night holding hands, and blind-daters being awkward. My Newcastle that night was seriously the best Newcastle I can remember having in the last 3 years. It was the perfect temperature, perfect head, perfect glass.... just really really good. I'm glad we were able to stop by for the experience- I'll definitely be back.

my uncle, brian kyle, owns the place, so i might be a tad biased, but i love omalley's. i've been coming here ever since he opened it maybe 7 or 8 years back. the food is great. the back patio is my favorite. the fireplace adds a really awesome vibe. sometimes they open up the back booth and it turns into a stage where they have irish folk bands play on occasion. i remember for my great aunt celine's birthday we had her party at omalley's and the place was PACKED with just our family. crowded, loud, hectic, entertaining, drunken, amazing. my cousin kyle works here as a bar-back, courtney is a server, and her boyfriend, chris, is a bartender. say hi to them because they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. ps. if you ever get the urge/have the chance, reserve a time to stay at the bed-n-breakfast room that brian owns out back. it's that room up the stairs when you're in the back patio. it's small, it's cute, it's amazing. you get hammered at the bar at night, stumble up the steps, pass out, then crawl out in the morning to get breakfast. amazing.

This is the place to go after good ride. Food is GREAT and so is the service. I got more help from the food runner than server, thats why I left out the fifth star. The food runner was very helpful and she made recommendations that were useful. I believe her name was Carla or Carley. Anyways thanks to a worth going experience.

My friend and I decided to come here because he was on a pub kick... And now I have constant flashback to this tasty pear cider they have on tap. I must go back! Also, their fish and chips are SO TASTY. My friend said that theirs was the closest to what he had when he was in England. It's great for people watching, and there are plenty of shops nearby to semi-drunkenly window shop at. Trust me, good times.

O'Malleys is the closest thing to a proper pub in the OC, in my opinion (I don't count Hennessy's across the street because it is more of a sports bar and their food isn't as nice). Just like a good local you have the bar on one side and places to eat on the other with nice wood decor, comfy booths and tables and a roaring fire place (which is great for the foggy mornings). Their breakfasts are good, including the fry-up (great breakfast for absorbing up all the nasty alcohol from the night before) and the scrambles are good, though they are huuuuge. Lunch/dinner are also good here. I love their burgers and sandwiches. But I have to give them a shout out for their fish and chips (food of the Gods, esp paired with a bottle of malt vinegar), their shepherd's pie (ground beef in gravy topped with a mound of whipped potatoes the size of your noggin), and their sausage rolls (some of the best I have had in the OC...essentially pastry wrapped around sausage filling, the best stuff to warm you on a chilly day). Service here has always been good, but it broke my heart when I asked about football (aka soccer) schedules and I got a blank look..in fact, I don't think they have the FSC...or if they do, the people there didn't know about it. Ah well, guess you can't have everything.

I have been to O'Malleys I would imagine over 100 times. I think most people go their for their drinks, they pour the best Guinness around. I think that they have about 6 beers on tap and they also serve hard alcohol and wines. The food is about 3.5 stars. The Chili is good and is nice and spicy. The servers and bartenders are all very nice. Overall O'malley's is always a great time.

Went back for happy hour. Four glasses of wine and split a pretty good burger and fries for about $20. (Amount of fries was a skimpy). Like the patio in the back even though that's were all of the smokers go to shorten our lives.

I love the chicken parmesan sandwich here!!! I know it isn't a typical Irish meal but it is amazing. Very nice place to stop in for lunch on a beautiful beachy afternoon. I do have one complaint that keeps O'Malley's from getting 5 stars....I did once get a deep fried spider with my french fries...not very appetizing, but only once and I do keep going back. Just ask them to hold the arachnids.

Hands down the best breakfast in or around Seal Beach and Long Beach. I always have the omelettes here and they never disappoint. I always get the home fries with that which are great as well. Their service is friendly and quick too. I place a high value on tasty breakfast at an affordable price and this place provides it!

went over to seal beach looking for a place that might have a good happy hour. so i stopped in here - and they don't really have a happy hour? just two appetizers. hot wings being one of them. also - the interior looks more like a marie calendars meets sports bar with some flags. i ordered a glass of wine and a turkey sandwich. the sandwich was bland and the cranberry sauce was a scoop out of a can. my husband was disappointed that they didn't have any good beers and his food was a let down also. perhaps it is just better to have a hard drink or wine when going in here. i was hoping for more- but it wasn't memorable.

Best Irish pub in the neighborhood. I recommend this place and recommed you try their steak fries. The food is fantastic. Good sizeable portions at a good price. I ESPECIALLY love those steak fries. Yum! Any day of the week, you'll find locales, families, or football fans enjoying a game on the plasma or eating breakfast or dinner. It's a pub that actually offers real, good food, along with their great beers on tab. I can always count on O'Malley's.

I had the meatloaf. It was pretty good. A little dry but otherwise okay tasting. There is ketchup on top though, so for those of you that do not like that, I would stay away from the meatloaf. My friends pastrami sandwich was really good. The pastrami was juicy, tender & flavorful. The service was quick and pleasant. The only negative was that it gets a little noisy inside. But i guess that is expected of a bar/restaurant. Prices are okay. Under $10 for our plates. The standard Irish fare is a little pricier like the the corned beef and cabbage and Shepard's pie.

Good service. Good food. We usually eat there for breakfast. Rude owner! We only saw him once the entire time and it was to complain about our kid who was playing with the basket of jam. I guess he has nothing better to do.

Came on a Friday night. I liked that it was mostly full with enjoying the night with beers and friends, but also that it was not wall to wall packed (where you can't get a table or even breathe in your standing space). The music was pretty loud and seriously hindered conversation. Now, onto the food, or shall I say, PUB FOOD. After leaving Boston, I FINALLY had a decent corn beef dinner. The corn beef was tender and juicy and yummy!! As much as I enjoyed it though, I preferred the shepherd's pie. I think because I was in need of something really salty and the pie hit the spot. I also got the seafood linguini. The seafood was fresh, but the dish overall was a bit bland. Also at our table was the fish and chips. The fish is one huge piece and I thought it was well cooked with a great crunch. Bangers and mash was also a fair dish. Someone had said the service was not great, but we had fine service. The server came right when I arrived and asked for my drink. Overall, the vibe and the food was enjoyable. Not a destination spot but I wouldn't mind coming back again.

I had to give a shout-out to O'Malleys on Main! This is my favorite bar in Seal Beach because it caters to locals (but all are certainly welcome)! On late nights, the bar always has a good crew of bouncers who keep the atmosphere safe. During daytime, the drinks and food are excellent. Of special note though, there is NO better place in Southern California to watch WORLD CUP GAMES than O'Malleys! If the games are being played at 3 AM, believe me, they'll be open broadcasting it on a big screen! Definitely drop by - us OC locals love to have guests! Love and peace all! ALI

Me and my father love to walk on the seal beach pier Sunday nights, we usually go to Coldstone afterwards but we didn't last time, we went to O'Malley's so much fun the game was on everyone shouting, drinking beer, and me eating an amazing bacon burger, it's an amazing place to go with friends not with the old man haha.

Omalleys is a great spot to go drinking in seal beach. They have great bartenders and waitresses. They also have a kitchen serving "bar food" items until midnight. The restaurant is also a great place to eat. They have good daily specials and a menu typical of an Irish pub. Good food and good people!

I've only been here for drinks so I can't comment on the food... Nice bar with a good selection of beers and a good atmosphere. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back and trying the food- it looked pretty good too. Our waitress was less than attentive...but it was late at night and we weren't ordering food. Not that that's an excuse...

We love to go here for Breakfast! It has become our traditional Thanksgiving morning breakfast place! My favorite is the "The Healthy Irishman." Their Irish pub atmosphere puts you right into the holiday spirit! And it doesn't hurt that it's just a short walk from the Seal Beach pier! Great pancakes too!!!

This Sunday morning I decided to take my wife out to brunch. We arrived at a famous place in the LB Marina around 8:45 AM and were told it would be at least a 45 minute wait but if we'd like, we could order drinks from the bar. Duh. I wasn't buying that. So we got back in the car and drove over to Main St. in Seal Beach and pulled into O'Malley's. Guess what? No line! We got in and ordered and were treated to a whole new brunch experience. I loved the food (see photos) and the treatment we got. We'll be back.

Came here after a full day out in the fun and sun that Seal Beach has to offer. Looked like a decent enough place with a patio in the back. The patio was this great space with plenty of plants that made it look like an Indian Jones ride... but then there's the fact that you can smoke here. Not my thing, but hey it's a bonus to you who do. The stars kept dropping because the Mahi Mahi, though nicely portioned, tasted like nothing and was a little on the dry side. I wouldn't mind coming back here, it's nice and lively enough, but I'd probably stick to the more "bar food" fare.

I would like to return to O'Malley's to try their dinner. The shepherds pie is not available in the morning, which is when we came for breakfast. I enjoy eggs Benedict. It is one of my favorite breakfast dishes. This two star rating is mostly because of the eggs Benedict. I wasn't sure whether or not to send it back. I ended up eating it. I was so dissatisfied afterwards though, and realized that I should have sent it back. I can't in good conscience give three stars (it was not A-Ok). I also can't give one star, because it wasn't an absolutely terrible experience. "Meh. I've had better" pretty much sums it up. For $9.95, I expect a somewhat decent eggs Benedict. The Canadian bacon seemed slightly sour and off tasting. I wasn't sure if it was just my taste buds? I usually highly enjoy eggs Benedict. The English muffin wasn't tasty at all--it was dry and seemed old. I don't know what type of eggs they use, but the poached eggs were not fresh. The potatoes were average. The hollandaise sauce was not good either. There was an overall sourness to the dish. All in all, I did not have a good experience. Service was average. While we were waiting for our food, a server brought a plate of bacon and set it down. He then asked us who ordered the stack of three pancakes, which was no one in our party. We all realized he brought the food to the wrong table. This wouldn't upset us normally, but my three kids became anxious because we were already waiting over 20 minutes for our food. My three kids do cause a mess, and throw a lot of crayons. The staff was good about picking them up. Essentially, the eggs Benedict was pretty bad. I have heard good things about the shepherds pie and hope to experience that in the future.

This place is probably just good for drinking and not much else. I came here with my Dad and Uncle because my Dad was meeting some of his friends. I've been here before and the food isn't all that great, but that's kinda expected. I think on the weekends they sometimes have live bands which is cool. There's also some history in this place too. My Dad's friend donated some old fireman gear to this place so there are old fire helmets on a shelf and pictures and an axe hung on the wall. It's a cool place to hangout and have a drink.

I'm one hell of a satisfied customer. I had just demolished The Best Shepard Pie that money can buy. It's filled with tender chick of lambs along with peas & carrots, the real mashed potato and served with an excellent gravy that's rich in taste; not too thick; just the right consistency. I've ordered this dish at least at half of a dozen restaurants; none of them even come close . Give it a try; you will never go elsewhere for it! Goman - Long Beach,CA For the Best service at the bar; ask for Brian!

Went last night for drinks with a friend. I ordered vodka soda water. The waitress was knowledgeable of the flavored vodkas. I opted for Whip Cream Vodka. Mmm. We had some sweet potato fries. They were large chunk fries, which is not my favorite, but they sufficed. Atmosphere was low key. Sunday night before Labor Day though. Service was decent. Nothing special, but I would like to return and try it again.

I've been a long time customer of O'Malley's and yes the owner sold which is sad, but understandable. That being said, my review is based on the employees that have always performed their jobs consistently and with thet best of their ability based on the MOD (Manager On Duty). You cannot blame poor employee performace based on the lack of accountability within this organization. To back this up, I have a career of 20+ years, to aid organizations to improve their bottom line without sacrificing the customer experience. Spencer is fantastic and always engaging with providing the best customer experience. Brian is fast and consistent and watches each customer with an eagle's eye. Don is outgoing and creates a great customer experience for all. He is always on target with what each customer needs and wants. Kelly is phenomenal at every aspect of her job. She not only understands the vetical market she serves, but also has great ideas to improve any company's bottom line. I am excited to see what the new owners will do to help keep the locals that have created customer loyalty and make improvements upon the lack luster food that is of late here. I welcome the change and I am cautiously optimistic. Seal Beach is a small community and word of mouth goes a long way. I am hopeful they serve the entire demographic and not just the 20 somethings they are known for and push out the 30, 40, 50 and 60+ crowd that truly love spending our monies locally.

Tried one of the house specials this evening, the corned beef, boiled cabbage, carrots and potatoes. Overall it was about 3 stars. Nothing extraordinary but not too bad. The Irish pudding was tried for desert and while small in first appearance topped off the meal perfectly (along with an Irish coffee) to leave me feeling satisfied. The live music was a plus and that atmosphere was that of relaxed, joyful, fun.

We chose this out of many other options along MainSt. in Seal Beach. And we weren't disappointed. Kurt had Bangers and Mash Potatoes, and Pam had Irish Stew. Both thoroughly enjoyed them. I had the blackened halibut which was excellent, as were the vegetables and Caesar salad. Look forward to coming back here.

My co worker and had lunch here, we both ordered a salad with shrimp and scallops. We were both disappointed by the presentation, and quality of the food. It barely had shrimp, and the scallops were no bigger than a nickel. The steamed vegetable were overly done. The restaurant had a total of 10 customers with three servers, it was slow for lunch, and our food took almost 30 min to arrive. The server did not even check on us. The ambiance of the place did not match the service or quality of the food. We were disappointed.

The pastrami sandwich on rye was perfect. The Bloody Mary was spicy and had good flavors. The sweet potato fries were done to perfection. They were not greasy. They were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside.

I grew up in seal and been going here since day one. I worked here for two years bar backing and know all the Kyles . I have mad respect for them. The manager with the mustache and the waitresses were rude and took way too long. Not cool. Bummed out how munch in went down hill.

We eat here at least 4 times a month on average Sadly a death in the family prompted the owner to sell it around June/July 2015. I submit this review with deepest respect and well wishes to the former owner whose attention to every detail on the menu is sorely missed We showed up in the first week of August (with hope and anticipation ) that our favorites would be served in the same way Alas they were not The halibut fish and chips served with the house salad missed the mark The salad used to consist of iceberg lettuce with a wide array of veggies. The salad we got appeared to be pre packaged greens and not very flavorful My husband complained that the halibut tasted soggy and old. A man of few words he asked the waitress if the menu was going to change with the new owners to which she replied a cryptic " just a few things". This does not bode well for those of us who are used to Perfection The sweet potato fries were still great and we really hope this menu item stays in tact. They are superior and could possibly save the day My husband says he doesn't want to return here to witness the final adulteration of his favorite foods but I wiil as long as they don't mess with the SPF (sweet potato fries)

A great Irish pub and restaurant mashed up with part sports bar and romantic dinner near the fireplace and alfresco dining on the patio. Service is excellent and the menu is filled with several great comfort food classics. Tonight we had Bangers & Mash and Corned Beef and Cabbage with a Jameson and a Guinness that was perfectly poured. Jennifer was the perfect server and always attentive to our needs and wants. Great dinner whether you are alone or with a large group? O'Malley's never fails!

Above all do not let Kylie serve you! If you want a server who will scream at your mother then she is your girl! I am appalled by the way her mistreatment of customers and she should be fired immediately. I came here tonight hoping for a nice dinner with my family and what we got was nothing close. The problem began when the power went out, an understandable dilemma which was not the server's fault. Instead of being honest about the fact that the electricity in the kitchen was having problems, our server tried to pass off cold food that was undercooked (including meat) which is clearly both unsanitary and dangerous. I then approached the bar to ask to speak to a manager. A server/ foreman named Kylie made it impossible for us to speak to the manager. Instead of kindly explaining that the he/ she? (wouldn't know thanks to Kylie) was busy she began barking at us for making such a request. When we asked to speak to the manager she replied, "about what?" in a harsh tone and continuously asked us if we really wanted to wait for the manager. I finally asked her why she was speaking to us in such a condescending way and asked her not to speak to my mother in such a disrespectful tone. The conversation only escalated from there. She went on to tell me that I was lucky that she did not cuss me out. I was utterly shocked and informed her that I did not feel a bit lucky considering I usually do not go into restaurants expecting to be violated in such a way. This experience at O'Malley's was without a doubt the worst dining experience I have ever had. I am disgusted not only as a customer but as a server with years in the industry. I am outraged by the way Kylie spoke to my older relatives as if they were second class citizens and a waste of her time. The entire issue was none of her business. Unless O'Malley's supports their employees yelling at older customers (or any customers for that matter) Kylie needs to be fired immediately. I would not recommend O'Malley's to anyone for any occasion. Both the bar and the restaurant are dysfunctional and out of line.

Nice place, I think I was in during happy hour, didn't ask. $6.75 for a pint of guinness , doesn't get much better than that, and for those who care they pour it right.

Went here a while back with my family. The food was pretty good! I ordered the bangers and mash and the sausage was so good! The potatoes tasted kinda plain/bland but maybe that's just the traditional Irish way(?). I love the atmosphere of this place and our waitress was very nice. Only takeaway was that it was so loud! I felt like I had to shout to the people sitting at my table and the waitress, but I guess the noise is more the customers fault lol.

Still one of the best places to have a pint of Guinness, poured properly! Grab a table next to large open aired entrance to enjoy sea breeze. For cold nights, there is a cozy little fire pit in back. Great place over all.

I had only ever been here at night for drinks with friends. But this weekend my boyfriend and I walked down to Main to our usual breakfast spot to find that it was too long of a wait for how hungry we were. We figured we'd give O'Malley's a try, and we were so glad we did! We sat in the room to the right by the fireplace, and it couldn't have been more comforting on a cold, foggy day. The food was so tasty! I had an omelette with all sorts of veggies in it. I could be crazy, but the eggs tasted like they had a hint of lemon--so unusual but so delicious! So, on top of this being one of my favorite places to go out to in Seal Beach on a Friday or Saturday night, I am now going to go on Sunday mornings as well :)

Horrible service. There were 5 other people in the bar and we couldnt find anyone to take our order for over 10 minutes. It was 3 p.m. on a Wednesday so there was no rush. Don't have a sign that says "seat yourself" if youre not aware of new customers. Made us feel unwelcome. Its a shame, it was one of my favorite college memories. Will never go back.

I think this place was a nice spot to have lunch and hang out with friends. The inside is very comfortable and clean. Our server was very nice although she forgot to bring my refill several times, but I guess it was understandable since she kept being asked for things as she made her way back to the kitchen. She made it up by discounting the drinks off our tab. I had the wings and my friend had a burger. From what I know the burger was not bad and a steak fries were pretty good. My wings were not amazing but not a bad selection if you want an appetizer as your meal.

We will definately go back. This was a great place. My husband had the lemon salmon with capers and I had the fish and chips. We also had onion rings and potato skins as appetizers. I had a soda and my husband had a black and tan. Service was great. Food was great. It was a little warm inside and the seating hostess seemed inexperienced and young because asked didnt greet me...she just asked me "What do you need?" when I walked in and I was taken aback by that but otherwise everything was excellent and I will go back for sure.

This is an epic post surf session hangout. After a good morning of catching waves nothing beats the friendly quick service we receive. When the kids are with me they love the pancakes and Thomas, the awesome morning bartender, makes a great bloody mary. If you are looking for something different, rent the room above the patio. It looks recently remodeled and has a Jacuzzi bath tub. This room is great for entertaining too. Because of the staff, atmosphere, good drinks and food; I give this place 5 stars.

Enjoyable ambiance, beautiful back outdoor area and nice service. I took a date here last Sunday evening and it was very peaceful. I'm only able to judge the drink I bought which was an Irish coffee. It ended up just tasting like warm, milky Jameson. Very disappointing, especially since it's an Irish restaurant/pub. So, unless you like Jameson with whipped cream (who the hell does?), don't spend $10 on their Irish coffee.

If i could give it a half star i would bit i didnt even get to eat at this establishment, after seating ourselves in the bar area for about 15mins during several employees walking by us and never once acknowledging us even though buisness was really slow, we decided to just walk out

Love the patio out back, super cute! The wings are delicious and I would go back for those. Had a burger as well which was also good. Sometimes if it's busy it takes a bit for the waitress to come around but they are always nice. They don't really have happy hour or specials which is a bummer. However, I would still go for some apps and a beer :)) **Turkey Cranberry sandwich is YUM! Their sweet potato fries are on point! Also their homemade verde salsa is bomb.com and makes any breakfast omelet super delish!

I came here once to get together with 2 of my friends one night and later on my husband joined us. My 2 friends thought it would be nice to just grab a drink here and just catch up. I had no other plans for the weekend night and thought why not. Anyways, when the 3 of us arrived, we were seated right away. The place wasn't too crowded after 8 pm when we arrived. We ordered our 1st round of drinks (me a white Russian, one of my favorite drinks). Later on when my husband joined us, we decided to order some appetizers. We just got some standard fare of nachos, steak fries and potato skins. Service was good. Our server was good at checking up on us and seeing if we were good for another round of drinks and also to refill our water glasses. Our server was also good at accommodating our additional guest (my husband when he came later) and such. Overall, O'Malley's is a great place to come to for some drinks and tasty bar style eats (I would like to come back here during happy hour, Mon- Fri: 3-7pm) with a good group of friends or maybe even a little date. Plenty of street parking on Main street, never had a problem before but I have never been around this area during really busy times.

Generous portions of well presented, tasty food! The location is impeccable, and sports a turn of the century decor, with huge shuttered windows drinking in the ocean breezes on most days. Ultra friendly staff, can't wait to go back

Enjoyed a generous front window seat with my husband for Valentine's Day lunch. He had the Halibut Fish and Chips and I had the shrimp and scallop mixed green salad. Both items were great. I had a perfectly poured Guinness. We ordered a side of sweet potato fries after seeing a plate go by our table. They were wonderful - super fresh and moist. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. We will be back for sure.

Oh boy, here we go... We came into this packed pub while the soccer game was on. Due to the high-saturation of fellow World Cup watchers, it was self-seating service. This meant there were no routine check-ups or acknowledgment of our existence; we will get to this later on in the review. The server was very nice and energetic. We asked for recommendations on which mixed drinks were popular at this bar. She gave me a honest opinion that the beers are favorable by the patrons here. I don't drink mix drinks regularly but I want to taste some personality from this place. I should have acknowledged her warning to steer me away from the mixed concoctions. We ordered: the Irish Maiden and the Fiddler. After our server took our ordered I chased her down and wanted to cancel the Fiddler and wanted a Bloody Mary instead. I even saw her punch in the item swap into the computer and went back to my seat. Even with all that effort, she came with: The Fiddler ($9) - Citrusy, sour, bitter, and Jameson-based. The Irish Maiden ($8) - Citrusy, slightly minty, Jameson-based, and the mint leaves were SPOILED and BLACK. I am a Jameson drinker and I should have just gotten shots of these bad boys. These drinks shamed his noble name. I even flagged them down with my hand and still got ignored. I had to get out of my seat and literally grab their attention. I understand it was busy, but for new incoming guests, should you make them feel welcomed and catered to some degree? I asked for a refund for the Irish Maid and she did, no questions asked. She was very kind in that aspect. We left and never looked back. We walked across the street to a different pub.

In case you couldn't tell by its name, yes it is an Irish pub & sports bar. My boyfriend took me here for a casual birthday dinner and a long walk on the (long) pier. They were up to the nines for X-Mas decor and had an awesome fireplace setting in the middle of the main seating room - perfect for chilly so-cal winter weather. The fish and chips were A+ I'd give the steak a B, overall a nice place to hang out with the locals (mostly older folks) and maybe catch a game or two.

A little disappointed in the turkey/corned beef sandwiches. So I would stay away on st Patrick's day unless all you want to do is eat. Lots of people and looks like a good time. But i was hear to eat and had to leave.

Came here for a couple a drinks. Great atmosphere, great vibes. To sum up O'Malley's in one word..."Devin." Best waiter/bartender I've ever experienced. Worth ever penny.

Nice place, staff but one hour street parking sucks. More like a sports bar, television showing the game, etc. Cool spot.

This restaurant was a GO TO place for breakfast when we lived in the area. When we arrived before 8am one table was occupied. You could yodel and get and echo. Nevertheless, the service was marginal. The girls were nice but they were too involved in their own conversation so exceptional attention was a NO GO. Standard breakfast plates were ordered and consumed by my son and I. When I got the bill I noticed a $4.95 charge for a large O.J..............OUCH!!! Not cool.
Loud. Slow service. Food was just fair. Price ok though. Really frightened me away from Irish pub food quite awhile. If I'm gonna consume fat inducing calories, I'd prefer something better. Hated having to wait so long for the cheque and had to summon a waiter to bring mine over so I could pay and leave.

I've been going to O'Malley's on Main for a long time (20+ years) and I just need to say, there is no better place for great food, fun, people and the perfect Guinness pour.

I had quite a bad experience. My friend and I ordered the seafood linguini to share. We asked for tomato basil sauce as it was an option. When we got the linguini, it was just bland. I never reach for the salt shaker but boy, was I reaching for it now. As I dug further, I realized there was no sauce on it. I asked the waitress about it and she confirmed that the kitchen ran out of sauce and didn't put any on the dish. So basically, they didn't put any sauce to a bland dish and tried to get away with it and charge us full price... That was just shady to me. My friend and I have never sent back food but we had to do it on this one. We got the shepard's pie instead. It was pretty decent. Good comfort food. The ginger drink I had was good too. I just wish they told us about the sauce before they actually made the dish so we could have options. After we got the pie, our waitress practically ignored us for the rest of the night. We were profusely apologizing for causing any inconvenience but I guess that didn't warrant too much service. I think I'll just stick to getting beers from the other Irish pubs across the street.

Cons: Food portion sizes are small and prices are at the top end of bar food... Pros: They have some great beers on tap, I've heard a couple of great bands here and Its really close to New York Pizza so you don't have to eat their food Conclusion: There are some way better bars on main street :-/

Great staff here! I don't know why I expected them to be snooty about our large group but they were all awesome. All of them! Most places are pretty lame about not seating you until your whole party is there but when 3 out of 10 people arrived early they let us have a table to wait for the rest of our friends. I know it seems like a small gesture but it was big in my book. On top of that they were all very attentive, friendly, and accommodating employees all around. I used to be a server so a good wait staff is very important to me and you'll definitely find it here. The food/drinks are overpriced (hence the minus one star) but I had the Shepard's Pie and it was delicious. Lamb was very tender and the gravy was flavorful. Nothing amazing but still a solid comfort food dish. The ambience is like a New England style pub and they have a nice outdoor patio in the back with a fire place. That was nice because I like to have a smoke after eating drinking. I don't come down this way much but definitely loved this spot.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!!! Came in here with my dad and 2 uncles as they really wanted to watch the dodger game. So we sat down and I asked our server if we can put it on the dodger game and she told me to ask the bartender. So I asked the bartender and she said a gentleman at the bar was watching golf. So I proceeded to ask the manager and he even said that the gentleman was watching golf. So we left. Simple as that. RUDE people even the MANAGER didn't have a sense of urgency to make his customers happy. NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN!

They got nice dinning room with all wood. Always come here and have their corned beef, however, I decided to try the 12 oz pork chop yesterday and it was tasty. They got a dink called Hot Toddy which I always get during winter time or when I have a cold, it helps me feel better.

Valentine's Day lunch. Excellent firm Halibut fish and chips entree. Side of sweet potato steak fries also excellent. Waitress Chris was very pleasant, properly attentive, and knowledgeable to recommend a beer to suit my taste. This Irish Pub experience was worth the 30-minute drive from Newport Beach, which does not have a comparable fish and chips!

Terrible experience! It started with food - we ordered the Shepheard's pie and a burger with fries. The meat in the pie tasted like it was old prior to stewing (I spit my piece into a napkin) and the fries tasted freezer burned. Unfortunately, this wasn't the end of our experience. We were seated next to the entrance and it was a chilly evening. I noticed that someone had left the front door open so I had my boyfriend close it. No less than 20 seconds later we were confronted by the band "roadie". He got in our faces, angry and frustrated, to tell us that he had, "left it open for a reason!" O'Malleys, get your shit together! I can't believe we paid $60 for the worst dinner ever!

Wandered in for breakfast yesterday with The Man. Decorated for Christmas with the fireplace going made the perfect ambience for a chilly December morning. Steak and eggs and eggs Benedict were tasty. Service was good as was the split of Korbel I sipped. Highly recommend this cozy place for breakfast on a weekend. Also looks like a great place for drinks at night.

O'Malley's has a nice atmosphere. It's comfortable, clean, and very roomy. I loved the french toast I got as it was perfectly cooked, and not overdone. The eggs were perfect and the bacon was very crunchy, just how I like. The coffee was great, unless you aren't a fan of a strong brew. I found this place charming. I would definitely go back on future Seal Beach visits.

...Just left Mike, the manager... I had a gift card that was demagnetized and showed ZERO balance as an error. I was honest with him about the balance (to the best of my knowledge) and he replaced the card on the spot. Good news travels fast...bad news travels faster ...this was Very good news! Thank you Mike

This review is based on my experience July 5th, 2014 at 10:30AM amongst several previous bad experiences. So it's 4th of July weekend with great weather and a World Cup game on. They had one bartender and a barback to service the entire restaurant plus act as a server also for the 15 seat bar. Needless to say service was poor. It took FOREVER to get my friends bacon & eggs. His toast wasn't toasted and the food was marginal overall. I used to love coming here, good food, atmosphere and decent service but something has gone seriously wrong. Though I can walk here from my house I rarely come anymore and this may have been the last straw.

I am sitting here as I type being grossed out by the smell of a toxic cleaner as I drink my beer. When I asked the young man to stop cleaning tables he said he couldn't. When I complained to the waitress she said that there was nothing they could do because they had to be out of here as soon as they closed. I was told my sole option was to move (which I did and that didn't help). I rarely if ever complain but when my eyes are burning and I'm trying to enjoy my beer and yet not feel like I'm sitting in a bathroom, it's pretty hard. It's only 12:30 on a Saturday night and there must be 100 people in here, there really must be a better time to clean.

There seems to be a concentration of "Irish" pubs/bars on Main St. in Seal Beach. I felt O'Malley's prices were fair. I got their signature beef french dip which had good flavor, fries on the side which weren't too good. I also felt like the Lagunitas I got tasted a little funky..pipes need a cleaning?? I'll go back but it may be a while, being new to the area there are tons of other spots on Main Street Seal Beach to try first. Erin Go Bunk'

Corn beef and cabbage was weak. Cabbage was still raw and hard. Small portion of corned beef for usd 14.95. Tried to get in the pre-St. Patrick's Day spirit, but mission was not accomplished.

Sat down to eat lunch here with my mom the other day . It was seat yourself so we chose a spot up front by the window to look out . Tons of workers passed by us not saying one word . No one even bothered to offer us drinks . Fed up with the horrible service we left & went to HENNESEY'S across the street & the waitress helped us RIGHT AWAY . I will be taking my business to Hennesys over this place from now on ! Don't eat here if you want horrible service :-)

The service was good here and I really enjoyed the atmosphere but the food really wasn't memorable. I had a omelette that was mediocre at best. The best part of the meal was the hash browns which you generally just cant go wrong with anywhere.

Had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly, atmosphere was great, but the food was just so-so. My wife had a steak sandwich and I had a Rueben, both with steak fries. Her steak sandwich was bland, not a lot of flavor, and the Rueben was just ok, I've had better. The sourkraut was a little too sour, almost like it was spoiled. Not enough dressing either. Next time I have a craving for Rueben, i'm going to The Kettle in Manhattan Beach! It's a drive, but totally worth it. They make the best Rueben I've ever had.

Service can be inconsistent here, but is pleasant overall, and they have some very good food items which are memorable. Pros: + Their chili is actually very tasty and spicy. They use peppers and jalepenos in its preparation, so when they warn you it's spicy, they're telling the truth unlike 90% of restaurants. Also, the little fresh-baked roll that comes with the chili is very tasty. + The veggie burger appears to be homemade here as well and is the best veggie patty I can remember eating. I highly recommend trying one of their burgers and subbing the veggie patty on it. + Some of the appetizers are pretty good. Some are not. The potato skins are generally tasty, but nothing special. + The drinks were usually refilled in a timely manner. + Bathrooms are clean, spacious and well-kept. + Nice fireplace inside. + Prices are reasonable. Cons: - Service seems frazzled at times, but is generally friendly. - Some of the appetizers are not great. I'm not a fan of the calamari, and the buffalo wings seem pretty dry. - They have a taco salad for some reason. Their menu could shrink a bit. Overall this place is worth a shot. It's a good value and the food is pretty tasty overall.

Food is still good, but a month of diffident, inattentive service despite being not obviously overburdened takes away a star and out of our regular Saturday breakfast rotation. Unfortunate.

The turkey burgers here are fantastic. The chili was a little too hot for me. I can't remember if there was a warning on the menu but that was very spicy! Couldn't eat more than 2 bites of it. If you love spicy though I'm sure you'll love it. Looking forward to coming back here. The waitresses are very nice too

Get the Irish stew! The flavor is savory and smooth and the portion is huge. Ask for additional meat though. I only had approximately 5 cubes of meat--hence 4 stars instead of 5.

good ol' los al alumni watering hole! everytime, I set foot in this establishment I run into someone that has graduated from Los Al. It's fun to catch up with ppl u basically grew up with. I am not a fan of Irish Pubs this being one. My friend drug me here and thats why I went....They are too loud and too many drunk people screaming and yelling. This place was packed and waaay to loud to hold a decent convo. We elected to sit on the patio where it was a bit more quiet. the patio is really nice with heaters and a fireplace, lots of ivy growing up the walls and nice lighting. Only problem is EVERYONE was smoking up a storm (I suppose the patio is where the smokers go) and two guys were smoking cigars WHILE they were eating--fork in one hand, stoggie in the other! The cigar went on for the entire two hours we sat out there. It was disgusting. I ordered a hard cider drink. It was far too sweet for me--i know, i selected it but the combination of the cigar smoke and the gross drink i had to leave because i was about to throw up. I wont be back but if you like super loud Irish pubs, this is the place for you!

Definitely diggin' this place. Good Irish ambience. The staff has done a fine job with the service the times I've been here. Sometimes it's noisy and sometimes it's quiet. They have those good bar steak fries here. I might rate higher in the future if I come more regularly.

M. wanted to go to Tatalum on a Sunday, which we found out was a complete mistake as it was crowded as hell. So we figured to swing by Main St. in Seal Beach, since we haven't been here since the concerts on the bluff. Yah, now I know why. Parking is an absolute bitch. The place is nice and cozy with the panelled ceiling and we were entertained with a 2-year old girl a couple tables down licking the railing and a 7-year old boy opening and closing the curtain partrition next to us. M. wasn't that hungry so she had the bacon/cheese baked potato and I had the shepherd's pie (not like I'm going to order a patty melt or burger in a pub). M.'s potato, especially the cheese (I hope it wasn't cheese product) didn't look that appealing, but she ate half and took the rest home. The shepherd's pie was OK, but they didn't dice the meat properly so I had to cut it down some. Was tasty, albiet a bit salty, good thing I had a Newcastle. Service was moderately slow, but we had the kids to entertain us and had a group of six shuffle in and sit behind us while we were finishing. Great if you like to hang out in a busy pub, but not so much if you want something more serene. $33.44 for a dinner, an appetizer, a bourbon/water and a Newcastle. Eh, thanks but no thanks...and the parking is a bitch.

There really isn't anything AMAZING about this spot. Yes, its local and convenient, but there isnt anything special when it comes to the food and they easily become overwhelmed when it becomes busy. One highlight is that they have a great spicy dirty bloody mary,

Wow, what happened at O'Malley's on Sunday night. No food coming out of kitchen for at least an hour. We ordered, no food ever arrived. Couldn't find waitress for 10 minutes and when we did she could not tell us when the food would be coming out, but did offer a glass of wine which we declined. After an hour and 10 minutes of waiting we said we would be leaving, they said they were sorry but could we pay them for the iced tea and soda we had. A surreal experience. Have been going there for over 15 years and never anything like this. They couldn't or wouldn't let us know what was wrong in the kitchen. Quite disappointing. Luckily many other great alternatives exist on Main Street.

two stars because the corned beef sandwich and sweet potato fries weren't half bad....the service here was terrible. First off it took the waitress 30min to take our order, then it took probably another 40 min to bring out the food. I can understand if the kitchens backed up it might be slow but there were maybe 5 other tables in there. It took the waitress 10min to fill up my water cup....I feel like a snob, but when you use a pitcher to fill up the water, I just don't see any reason to for it to take so long especially if it isn't busy.

Sean is friendly and makes us feel very welcomed. We were just at O'Malley's a couple of days ago and he was so great! We had so much fun that we decided to move our Sunday dinner party of 14 here. Horrible! Here for about an hour then asked to leave! If your having an employee Xmas party at a public bar let us know at the door! After tipping the help 100 plus dollars, we are told we are not welcome because we aren't employees! We really had no idea considering we got chips from employees to play at the tables and had been visiting with them for about an hour.(casino party) The only reason we found out was because when we tried to buy our drink the rude women behind the bar told me they didn't have grey goose just vodka. When I proceeded asking what brand she got angry and repeated just vodka. That's when she told us it was a private party and had some other guy come over and tell us we needed to leave. Seriously located on a street where people bar hop! Place security or someone at the door. You just lost 5 locals! Rude service!

O'Malley's charm is that it changes its identity as the world revolves around it. Go on a sleepy Sunday night, and a movie is playing in the bar. Go on a Friday night and you are Standing Room only with a bouncer at the door. And then go on a Wednesday morning, and get a full service breakfast. What is consistent are Cold Irish Beers on Tap, delicious steak fries, and friendly staff. *Parking is time limited as it is in a beachfront community, difficult on weekends and holidays *Full service menu is usually only until 10PM with burgers and fried snacks until midnight

Best pub in Seal Beach. Everybody knows your name. Bryan the owner is a true classic Seal Beach guy. The Chamber of Commerce has their meetings there. Omally's on Main is the home base for the home team in Seal Beach.

Fish & Chips done right! Ordered the Alaskan Halibut. Thick, flaky... Worth the price. Not greasy at all. Accompanied by malt vinegar, and their fresh-made tartar sauce. Omalley you bastard you did it again!!! To drink? Snake bite with their harp beer. Choice ass meal. Do it!

Of the plethora of Irish bars in Seal Beach, this seems to be my favorite. They attract a decent crowd on Saturdays after 11pm. The bartender seemed to know my nickname, so he was obviously paying attention (at least to one of my girlfriends who might have mentioned it). I left right around the time the DJ started playing and for good reason. Too loud and not the best music considering the crowd. They do have a really nice court yard area, but it seems to be dominated by smokers (is that even legal?)

we ordered a pub burger and got a western. The bar tender did not know how to make a specialty cocktail Side car. They want me to tell how to make it, Did not have internet to look at the reciepe, finally brought one and it was too too strong, Lots of flys and stick table

Stopped in for drinks. Long Islands/Adios/LA Water were awesome and strong. Friend had a couple of grey goose and cranberry which were delicious. Bartender was low key, but very attentive. I was leaving as some amateur rap grp started performing, which wasn't really my thing. I will def return for the service and drink quality. Service - 5 Quality - 4 (drinks only) Atmposphere - 3

Maybe I just caught them on a bad night, but this was my first visit and I was not impressed. First, my patty melt burger was very much undercooked...but even worse, when I sent it back, they returned the SAME burger to me with my original bite out of it and all. Not a huge deal but seemed pretty tacky. The toast was now cold so it was no longer fresh. They didn't even go to the trouble of aligning my 'bite' correctly. Just threw it back together. Then, the waitress never brought me another fork so I had to retrieve one from the bar. And, she didn't refill my water until I asked her to when she brought my check. The patty melt was decent even with the problems, but the potato salad was very bland. Recommend picking another spot along the strip.

O'Malleys is situated on Main St in Seal Beach and competes with a multitude of Irish themed pars/pubs within a 3 block radius. After coming here about 5 or 6 times, I'd have to say this place is the best of all of them overall. The staff is friendly, albeit the waitresses are consistently on the slower side. The clientele seems nice and not overbearing. During the week, it's a great place to come and hang out, grab a few drinks and have some tasty food. I definitely have to tip my hat to the kitchen for their chili. The chili here is absolutely delicious. I always ask them to make it extra spicy, but that's just me! It's full of tender steak (which is how chili should be) and is mouthwatering. The fish & chips are also pretty amazing. The Chocolate lava cake was a bit disappointing. It comes on a plate with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and, to be honest, it looks like a Ding Dong on the plate and about the same size. For $7, I would skip it and just go with the bread pudding. On Fridays/Saturdays it gets a lot busier at the bar as you would imagine. But again, the crowd seems fun and energetic and it's not horrible to get a drink. The bar staff is pretty attentive. I'll definitely be coming back for more Chili and beer soon!

After a pleasant 10mi bike ride to Seal Beach, our noses led us to O'Malley's. Literally. We walked up and down Main until I determined the compelling aroma came from within this pub. Two things: 1) Order the O'Malley's Prime Roast Beef Sandwich. It comes on this wonderful french roll that's fluffy but just breaks apart in your mouth. I would make the 10mi bike ride just to get this to-go alone. Choose the onion rings as the side - they are beer battered and quite tasty. 2) The service here was wonderful. Quick, responsive, pretty smiles, friendly but un-overbearing banter. We realized after we left that one of our friends left her phone behind, and just as we turned around to retrieve it, we see one of the busboys running down the sidewalk towards us waving the phone. And we got to catch the end of the VT/GT OT thriller. I also enjoyed their music selection. With no complaints, I happily give O'Malley's all five of my stars!

This place is great. I have been here many times as some of my close friends are here EVERY Friday for drinks and dinner. The food is awesome. It is an Irish pub and when inside you feel like you're in another place. The service is great too!

The burger I had was okay. Interesting how I just noticed somebody's review for this place talking about their strong adios/la water's.. because when I tried to order those two drinks, they said they didn't know how to make them. My buddy had to pull out his Mixologist app on his phone and tried to find the recipe for an L.A. water. When I finally got my la water, it was the wrong color and tasted funny. I'll go to Hennesey's across the street next time.. :-/

The service was par, but the buuser was horrible. He had a very bad attitude that ruined the dining experience. The price also did not justify the service/food.

Ice cold Harp Lager. That's what matters most. Never mind the fact that they tarnish their Irish Pub status when they bring in a DJ... Where's the Flogging Molly? Dubliner has got it down. Oh well. Harrrrp. I like the style and set up of this restaurant - it feels very comfortable. It may just give Beachwood a run for their money when I'm in the area.

I thought O'Malley's on Main was a cool and fun place to go. The environment on a Saturday night was lively, and fun. The food was surprisingly better than I expected. The service could be a little faster but over all I enjoyed it and will go back again.

I got into Seal Beach after a long day of flying from Denver. I was starving. Started walking down main street and was drawn to this pub with wide open windows. It just screamed "friendly". I went in and it was. The server was an awfully sweet girl who I believe was from Slovenia and not Ireland but she was wonderful. She was quick to bring me a Smithwicks and a water. I ordered the Dublin Salad with the Sesame Ginger salad dressing it was very good. A bonus - my phone was almost out of battery and what to my glee - every table had an outlet under it and I recharged my phone along with my body.

Went for a Friday night meal. The place was busy which seemed like a good sign. The hostess without asking, took us back to the patio. Big mistake! Unless you enjoy people SMOKING all around you while you eat, don't be fooled by the appearance of the patio. After we sat down, we noticed a guy SMOKING at the table by the fireplace. There was a bit of a breeze so we thought it would be OK and he would leave soon. Wrong! His buddy then lights up a cigar and starts SMOKING with all the gusto of a cigar. It was so noisy inside we decided to try to wait it out. We ordered a bowl of chowder and asked that it be brought right away with our drinks. 10 minutes later the chowder arrives. It started out good but somehow got watery as we got to the end of it. Very strange. Did we mention the guys were still SMOKING at the other table and someone from inside the restaurant now has come out to light up (apparently, there is no SMOKING inside the restaurant). We ordered the Halibut Fish and Chips and a Reuben sandwich. The fish looked good but it was way to thick. The batter had no flavor at all. It would have been better to slice it in two pieces but they would still have had to add something to the batter to make it edible. The Reuben was pretty good but not a lot of meat. The French fries and Sweet Potato fries were way too thick also. Still SMOKING going on at the other table. We asked for the check so we could get out of there. We noticed another guy standing at the door SMOKING and there was even an ashtray there for him. Yuck!!! Never again. We asked for the manager on the way out and after 5 minutes as we started to leave he shows up. He seems surprised that all this SMOKING was going on on the patio but hey, you have an ashtray out there. Come on dude! Needless to say, won't be back.

On a whim decided to go here for a quick drink and some snacks. It turned out we were here during happy hour, but there wasn't much a selection unless you wanted one of their house wines or a domestic beer. We had the Potato Skins and they also weren't much of anything special. The cheese wasn't that good and the bacon bits seemed like the really crunchy stuff you would throw on a salad. They have a pretty nice looking patio we didn't see until we were getting to leave, but still had a pretty nice table looking out at the sidewalk in front where you could watch the world go by. There are plenty of other places in the area to check out and if I'm back in Seal Beach, I may have to check some of them out.

Cool bar to have a drink after watching the sunset on the beach with your significant other! We headed over to the bar just past 7, had a few drinks and fries. Service was great and our food came out pretty fast.

Finally an Irish pub that's not fake Irish. I've been craving corned beef and cabbage for awhile and have had many failed attempts at "Irish" places getting it made right. Well this place got it very right. My corned beef was amazing and my friends sheppards pie was good too. I only wish they we're closer to my apartment.

We wandered into O'Malley's and were seated right away in a big booth. Our drink orders were taken and we pored over the menu. We ordered the Chili Cheese steak fries and the sausage roll appetizers. The sausage roll was by far the winner. Think well seasoned "banger" type sausage in a pastry dough that has been baked to perfection. Oh, so GOOD! I wish I had ordered it for dinner...but I digress. The chili cheese steak fries were what I expected and were pretty middle of the road, but the chili did have a nice kick to it. Entree orders around the table included shepherd's pie, a burger topped with chili, bangers and mash, and, on recommendation from many of you other reviewers, I ordered the Reuben. The shepherd's pie looked amazing, almost artful, and for the most part was tasty except for some pretty fatty meat pieces. The burger with chili disappeared so quickly that it must have been good. The bangers and mash had the same sausage as the sausage rolls and was, therefore, delicious. My Reuben was DELICIOUS. There were piles of corned beef, just enough thousand island dressing, and the sauerkraut complemented everything else perfectly. YUM! Had the service been faster, I think we could've given a five, but the quickest our waitress came to our table was to pick up the check. Overall, a pleasant dining experience and if we're in Seal Beach again, we'll probably be back.

O.K. Been here before and the food is good so came back for lunch today. There are only 3 tables at 2:00. I've been here 15 min. Someone came and picked up the menu but they have not taken my order yet! Not good service today, disappointed.

This place is cool. I have eaten here a few times but usually just come to drink. The place gets really busy on the weekends with lots of party people. So I try to avoid it unless I'm in the mood to be around people or with out of towners who want that kind of action. I did go quite recently and enjoyed their outdoor area in the back. They have a nice outdoor seating area with a fireplace and a little water fountain/well. It is a cute place to chill out there. When it is not too busy or when there are not too many smokers out there.

I adore pubs like this. I especially love them on a lazy Sunday with good friends and good booze. We were seated right away despite this place being fairly busy with a very mixed crowd. I could see myself spending a fair amount of time in here if I was in the neighborhood. I have to say the food was good ( chili was excellent) but PRICEY. Given, we were in Seal Beach but 9 bucks for a bowl of chili is ridic. No drink specials as far as I could see, but a fun semi-non bro-ish atmosphere.

this is a meh review.. the burgers are awesome. their sandwiches are good. Eggs ditto hash-- not so much. However don't order the fish tacos! I had them once before and they were great. This time despite the description on the menu.. this was the worst I had ever had. virtually no cheese, no sauce.. no side of salsa.. there was chopped tomatoes.. no cabbage or anything.. just a slab of fried fish that was dry and I ordered tea and never got a refill on the hot water.. so that wasn't nice either.. disappointed. should have ordered a burger ..

Because I have a borderline alcoholic Irish friend,we decided to check this place out. Neither one of us had ever been here before so we didn't know what to expect. The area seemed nice and there was a jolly atmosphere when we first walked in. We were just a few friends in the area looking to wet our whistle and this place was legit. We didn't expect to get any food, but the bar was full and it just feels uncomfortable sitting at a table and just drinking. I wasn't very hungry so I got their Dublin Salad. It was more than I bargained for. Maybe it was because I wasn't very hungry, but it tasted pretty average to me. I think they might have done something to it as well, because I made an ass of myself ordering it. Besides it's friendly atmosphere and average food, this place didn't stick out. It didn't really wow me. I also wanted to sit outside, but it was a tiny smoking patio and I try not to mix meals with cigarettes. The service is pretty good and also, well, pretty. There are plenty of TV's around for sports fans, but I found it odd that one was a baseball game elsewhere while the Angels were playing at the same time. I almost gave this place a better review because alcohol makes everything better just not this time. 3/5

3.5 stars. O'Malley's is a standard Irish pub on Seal Beach's main drag; basically a sports bar wearing a leprechaun suit for disguise. We stopped by for a very late dinner plus drinks since it's one of the few SB locales that keeps the kitchen open late. The bartender, hostess, and waiter were chill and the service was reasonably quick. What won me over was the real wood fireplace with cozy tables by the hearth. O'Malley's has the obligatory televisions, vaguely Irish decorations, large selection of ultra-cold beers, and glossy dark wood panels to fully pull off the "pub theme." Despite the ultra-generic, limited menu of non-Irish food (read: bar food), the food was well executed. The chicken strips and BBQ western cheeseburger were very fresh-tasting especially considering I was definitely in the mood for something a little more exotic. Overall, it was a relaxed place to hang out but not a destination in my book.

I come here pretty often for drinks after work. Staff is nice enough, beer is cold and hits the spot. Food is typical pub grub, so mostly fried and forgettable. They do have decent fish and chip, so if you are in the mood, try that.

RIDICULOUS !! so its a Wednesday night before thanksgiving and theres a LINE? wtf my group was already inside; as i was late and so, i politely walk up to the door passing the line and hand the "bouncer" my I.D and he blocks me and says where you going? as to which i reply, "my groups inside ...?" "no! everyone waits" WTF SERIOUSLY? i took off.. you're seriously going to make me wait inline by myself for 30+ mins while my group is already inside ? thats not PUB hospitality for ya there buddy !! this isnt a club so don't treat your patrons like club goers ! will i even attempt at going back? nope.. piss a gay off and you're reputation is ruined for life !

It's a shame a place with as much ambiance and charm as O'Malley's, serves food that can only be described as lazy. Save money and go to Dennys and get the same if not better quality. If your going to insinuate Irish fare, at least do the staples correctly. The Irish stew was thin and no better than Chunky from a can. The Shepherds Pie was nothing more than canned carrots and peas in a gravy, with lumps of chewy lamb and more mashed potatoes than Richard Dreyfuss used to build that tower in Close Encounters. That much potatoes piled up high was just plain stupid.

The location is good. A short walk from the beach. It is right in the middle of everything on Main Street. The food is ok. It is nothing special. I ordered the pub burger with jack cheese. I ordered it medium and it arrived well done. I know most places do not like to do medium on burgers, but at least give me medium well. The burger did come with big steak fries. That is a plus. This is an ok place for lunch. It is a cool place to hang out and have some drinks. For that I might give it another store, but for food it just gets three.

We ended up here as our last stop while out bar hopping! Made it in time to see the band play a few songs before the placed closed for the evening. The band was fun, everyone was out on the dance floor and the crowd seemed really nice. There was a wide age range so it was a fun, relaxed atmosphere and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Wish we would have come here sooner and skipped some of the other stops.

Their servers are always the best. No doubt. Their portions have gotten worse over the years. They skimp, for sure. Great place to meet up but don't expect a pleasing meal. They don't do that anymore.

Great for drinks and/or dinner. Dim/Dark lighting, amazing pub ambience, fire place. Over all awesome atmosphere if you want a cold drink in a cozy pub. Service is BEYOND fast and very friendly. Ordered: Jack and coke, heavy hand ALWAYS a plus. The sampler plate comes with potato wedges (cheesy and delicious) AWESOME calamari fingers fresh with not too much greasy breading, onion rings are as good as it gets. Pastrami Sandwich, coming from LA I thought I had found THE best pastrami sandwich in town until O'Malley's. Seriously unreal. The rye bread was fresh and warm, the chesse top quality, and the meat didn't have an ounce of fat. I will be dreaming of this sandwich for days.

I walked into this Irish pub for lunch last week with a friend of mine after a morning of paddle boarding. We've never been to this pub, but heard about their baked potatoes and decided to try it out. It's just like any other bar as far as appearances go. Wood. Loud Men. Sports T.V. In reflection; there wasn't much "Irish-ness" about the place except for a few green clover images here and there. But once we sat down I was surprised at how quick our service was. Usually I'm not taken seriously because of how young I am when I walk into bars, but a waitress was quick to get our drinks and take our orders. As far as I can tell, she didn't treat us like two-broke-teenagers-who-don't-know-what-they're-Âdoing, she treated us like customers. My friend and I (ignorant to what time their potatoes are available) just flat out ordered potatoes to be told (kindly) by the waitress that potatoes aren't served until after 5 p.m. We displayed our disappointment and told the waitress we'd need more time to decide on something else to order. She left us and came back about two minutes later to inform us that they'll make potatoes for us. Score! It was awesome. 'Dem taters were delicious and salty and sour creamy and YUM. I will definitely be back for more. Based on how I'm treated at bars, I decide who deserves a tip or not. Our waiter didn't get much of a tip based on how broke I actually am, but we DID tip her. So yeah, providing great customer service to ALL customers goes a long way in my book. I spent all the money in my pocket at that pub that day and still gave her what was left in my wallet. You must try their potatoes. You must. Joe Jost's has thier eggs, but O'Malley's has their potatoes.

I'm pretty easy to please, but after going here for the first time I was very unimpressed with the service and food we got. Went today for lunch. It was 12pm - had to seat ourselves, no smile or hello from anyone. sat and waited for a waitress or someone for over 5 minutes. Then when she arrived, had a very poor attitude, not at all pleasant. Had no lunch menus on the table, just leftover menus from breakfast. Waitress gave us another 15 minutes to decide what to order - how nice. When we asked her for reco's, she promptly explained that there was NOTHING she could recommend. We didn't receive our food until 12:52pm! Almost one hour later - I have a young child who I can't believe sat that long - we showed her videos on our phones to keep her occupied and not screaming from hunger. no thank you from the waitress at the end. My husband asked the waitress for our check and boxes right when she brought the food, he didn't want to be rude, but I was visibly upset - Our bill for almost 60 dollars and the food was not good either. Me and my daughter did not eat our foods which contained chicken - it seemed old and had an odor. I wrote an email to the restaurant and am waiting a response. Don't think we will ever go again - that's sad - and so dissappointing - what a waste of time and money for lunch today.

Main St. has got it goin' on. First off, how can you not dig a street that has a cross street called Electric Avenue? The fact is you can't. You just plain can't. You know it, I know it, the American people know it. On top of that, it's truly amazing how many watering holes and eateries they've managed to cram into six or so blocks. And there's quite a selection of cuisines from which to choose. You've got your Thai, your Vietnamese, your Mexican, your BBQ, your burger joints, your delis, and, of course, your seafood restaurants up the proverbial ass. It's like a 1.75 million square foot food court where at least some of the food is actually half decent. Choosing a place at which to dine on Main St., therefore, could make for quite a challenging endeavor. We were fortunate in that, at the time of which we speak, we were in the market specifically for breakfast, which had the effect of narrowing our scope somewhat and making the decision process a bit less arduous. After perusing the menus of various breakfast joints, we felt that O'Malley's most effectively jacked our respective nads. Scarfy went for the O'Malley's omelet which included (working from top to bottom) avocado, sour cream, mushrooms, tomatoes, bell peppers, bacon, red onions and probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting. All the ingredients were devastatingly fresh and tasty. She washed it all down with a mimosa featuring fresh squeezed OJ. I customized a breakfast burrito with veggie chorizo (don't worry, I'm not going vegetarian on you), refried beans (see?) and cheese on a spinach tortilla. At the risk of being sued by Rachel Ray, delish. Furthermore, the salsa was homemade, fabulous and pretty damn caliente for an Irish joint. Speaking of which, one would think that a place called O'Malley's would have its shit together in the potato department. Sadly (and oddly), this is not the case. I'm not quite sure how to characterize their spuds. Sort of like cold potato croutons, I guess. I have no idea what method they employ to achieve the end effect, but I would strongly advise its discontinuance at once. What's wrong with regular old hash browns anyway, hmmm? Speaking as a drunken mick myself, I find the potato situation particularly distressing. However, in this case it's only going to cost them one star, on account of me being a drunken mick and all. Service was friendly and attentive. Of course we were the only ones in the place at the time. The bar looks really nice, but ten o'clock in the morning is too early to start knocking 'em back, even for me. (Did I mention I was a drunken mick?) They've also got a small but lovely patio out back where you can get your al fresco on. Should you be fortunate enough to find yourself on Seal Beach's Main St. some time and can't decide where to do breakfast, head on over to O'Malley's. I seriously doubt that you will find yourself disappointed. Except maybe in the potatoes.

Whenever I am in town visiting Seal Beach, I always have to stop by O'Malley's! The food is great and the employees are hilarious. It always feels like I'm back in college drinking with my friends. Everytime I am here it is crowded but that never seems to matter. Service is quick and always delicious. I had the scallops with zuchini and a salad. I love it when I can eat healthy and not even notice because it's so yummy! The rest of my family ate the shepherd's pie. Everyone agreed it was the best they've had (even beats grandma!) For an Irish pub their beer on tap was slightly limited but everyone found something to do the trick ;)

We were just about to walk into the restaurant for dinner when we looked in the window and saw a table of diners and a dog dining with them! Are dogs allowed to dine INSIDE restaurants now? We didn't think this was allowed but perhaps the health dept rules have changed.....Oh well, we didn't end up going in nor will we go back. We used to like coming here.....

This review is solely based on the Breakfast at O'Malleys. I have been here a few times now, If I had reviewed it after the first time it would have gotten a big fat 1 star due to the terrible waitress we had! OMG she was awful. As a rule of thumb, we are always hung over when we come here for breakfast, my buddy lives down the street. We had gone to Cowboy Country the night before so I was in cowboy boots, cowboy hat, Jack Daniels rodeo shirt, etc etc... LOL She was not amused and was extremely unfriendly to the where I almost complained and I never do that. So thankfully, I have tried it a few times more now and all the other waitresses I've had have been just great! They have a very expansive breakfast menu, my buddy gets the Chili Cheese Omelet and swears by it as his hangover cure... I don't know it makes me sick just thinking about it, but I guess I shouldn't knock it until I try it right? Me on the other hand, I get the 7 grain whole grain pancakes as my hangover cure, Pancakes are the BEST hangover cure, its the only thing I can eat when I am feeling under the weather the day after a good night! Try to get a seat by the windows so you can people watch on Main! MY GO-TO DISH: 7 Grain Whole Grain Pancakes and Extra Crispy Bacon and a Bloody Mary or Mimosa depending on how I am feeling. The bloody Mary's are pretty good...average at best. And the mimosas are served with a small bottle of Korbel Champagne and a glass of orange juice, pretty cool.

Went here last night, it was our first stop of the evening. We got there a little early in the evening around 7 or 8ish. It was very family pud like. The decor and atmosphere are very comfortable and inviting. We had drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were normal. The appetizer was OK too. We had the scallops. They were tender but had no flavor and there were only four scallop and a bunch of lettuce. I know it was only appetizer but I would have liked more scallops.

So we recently moved into the area and were checking out the local eating establishments and discovered this place! Wow! The food was great! We've been back several times and eats been consistently good. Well, to be honest we can't get away from the halibut fish and chips and the bleu cheese burger. Both are outstanding! The service is good. The cadillac margaritas are strong and reasonably priced. The ambiance is comfortable and fun. We really like and look forward to trying more things on the menu when we get tired of our "regulars"!

Stars earned for : the patio, one of my favorite in the south bay with its fireplace. The staff is awesome, and the food is great. They lose stars on the food and beer selection, it's straight McIrish, nothing terrible, but nothing to go there for. A great place for a late night drink. The dubliner in long beach has better food.

It's an Irish bar in Seal Beach, and they have sports stuff. Yes, empty calories, and yes beer. lots of beer. They do serve other alcohols too, got a Gin and Tonic. This is more of a guy hang out or family hang out. Staff is very nice. Yes I will return. Cold drinks and good service. Also, noticing all the other meals, if you like Fish and Chips, you'll totally love it, it's huge. :D Check it!

I came here during happy hour with a friend. The homey feeling inside is great. It has a cozy feeling, but that's about where the charm ended for me. We had a waitress with a phony friendly attitude. And believe me, you can tell it was fake! She told us about the happy hour specials. My friend went for a beer, and I had a rum and coke well drink. Okay, so I know this is not a complicated drink to judge a place by, but man this was a nasty rum and coke! I don't know how it came out exactly like water, but somehow the bartender managed to make such a simple drink taste so bad. There were not many people in a bar in a great location with a happy hour. Maybe people know about the well rum and coke. After one drink, we skipped out and headed down the street.

O'Malley's on main is a very large restaurant compared to others on the street. Service was average, parking hard to find at times, and food lacking. The place was fairly empty for a Friday lunch, so service was pretty quick. I ordered the beef dip with onion rings. Onion rings were very few compared to a side of fries. Onion rings were well battered and tasted good. The beef dip was very bland in flavor and so was the au jus. Au jus comes in a small container that is not fitting for dipping into. You have to pour the sauce on your sandwich after the first few dips. The au jus is not the right portion to the sandwich as I ran out before I finished my sandwich. Overall a 2.5 star place as the food is not great and there are much better places in the neighborhood to eat at. Must of lucked out with OK service compared to some of the reviews. If I do go back will have to try a corned beef sandwich of some type.

Went a couple times for dinner. I should have gone to Beachwood the second time instead. The first time I had the Pastrami sandwich, and it was actually pretty good. The second time I had a burger, because it was Wednesday and a burger is the only logical meal. O'malloys dosnt agree as they do not celebrate Burger Wednesday. Also the burger was pretty pedestrian. Decent choice of beer, which is mostly big names in contrast with beachwood across the street. If you have a big party, O'malloys is probably much easier to get a seating than waiting for Beachwood, otherwise just wait for the BBQ.

We stopped here for lunch today (lil guy picked it) and we were wonderfully surprised by the tasty food we got. For pub fare this place does more than get it right. I was torn between a couple of things but finally settled on the hot corned beef sandwich on rye. The corned beef was not fatty and neither was it dry. It also wasn't overly salty. Hubby's blue cheese burger was also THE best we've had so far anywhere. The amount of blue cheese was good... totally complemented the burger. Our server was attentive and helped me with my choice -- gave me good suggestions when I asked. I also noticed other diners (drinkers rather at the bar) eating buffalo wings which looked really tasty. Too bad I didn't have room anymore. Lil guy had the pancakes with bacon and egg. Pancake came in the shape of Mickey Mouse and they put the strip of bacon as the mouth, 2 grapes for the eyes and a dollop of butter as the nose. He ate the entire pancake and the bacon. Totally recommended for food as well as those wanting to drink at lunch time. Many people were already plastered when we left. That's the way to live!

Dropped in here for a drink with some friends. Got treated to good service and Karaoke night. We had some cougars at the table next to us and a weird guy on his laptop in the booth across from us. They all added for a very FUN time. The environment is warm and the gas fireplace is a nice touch. Drinks are good. Had already had dinner but ended up coming back the following morning for breakfast. Great service and the veggie omelette was yummy.

since i was at a beach, i had the urge to get fish and chips... $17.19 includes a sourdough bread roll, a small bowl of soup, same sized bowl of coleslaw, one battered fish piece, and fries. my friends went with sandwiches and burgers. our waitress was nice and helpful, checking up on us to see if we needed anything. soup (tomato something) and bread was good, fries were good, coleslaw didn't really like it, and the fish. i thought the portions were disappointingly small. not worth the $18 i paid for it. they give you a overly large chunk of cod the batter was AMAZING but there wasnt enough to go around. the meat on the inside was pretty tasteless but of course you have to use the sauce right? i would have preferred it if they cut it into three pieces maybe and served it like that. the more crunch the better right? 2.5 stars but i'm rounding down... was disappointed by the food.

Wow. So, I have come here a couple billion times with my parents back in the day for breakfast. The food is reasonably tasty; I recommend the Irish Stew with extra potatoes. Earlier tonight, I went there in hopes of having a drink with a few friends. We sat down in a very dull environment consisting mainly of guys. My friend asks the waitress what kinds of Single Malts they have where she responds, "I don't know what Single Malts are." She advises him to go look for himself over the bar and leaves. Upon returning, we informed her that we were going to take off and head elsewhere. She replies, "Okay" and leaves again. Thanks to this pitiful excuse for a waitress, O'Malley's sure has a way of making people feel welcome. Having been a waitress and in the restaurant business for years, I have a hard time accepting when people are especially rude and make no efforts what-so-ever to be friendly to their tables.

Way better than Hennessey's! Clearly the place to be in Seal Beach, as this place was jam packed with hot, young adults. I came here to meet my Sigma Nu for a couple of drinks and to catch up. This place fits your standard Irish pub. Too trendy to be legit, but nice enough for a good time. Loved all the 80s rock. Made me have to blast "Heat of the Moment" on the car ride home! Get a seat by the fireplace or outside if you can!

The first time we dined there, we might as well had been sitting at a different restaurant. The waitress was not up to speed, especially when there were only a few patrons in the place. We had to ask for drink refills twice before we were able to get a drop. The food was mediocre at best. However, we went back the other day for breakfast. Our waitress must have read the bad reviews from prior guests, because she was on top of it with drinks. The food was still mediocre. If you want breakfast that's within walking distance, this would be an OK place to go to. Otherwise, I'd opt for the Pizza place next door.

Food is "okay". Beer is "okay. I wish my beer was a little colder. I had a friend visit from out of town. He's of Irish decent so I decided to give him a taste of American Irish. We had several beers to drink during the evening and ended up leaving when the bar closed. I think the entire police force was at the restaurant that night. Glad to see the Seal Beach Police making sure there are no drunken idiots getting behind the wheel.

I recently went to O'Malley's for a casual lunch with my family. Honestly, the experience was subpar to say the least. Their menu is very overpriced for the quality and variety of foods they offer. The restaurant is extremely casual--almost too casual to be a sitdown restaurant with waitresses. The food was average..let's just say I would much rather pick up a sandwich or salad at a local Panera Bread/Corner Bakery. I can't say that the menu was exceptionally fresh. It was definitely not very flavorful. The restaurant also needs better upkeep on the interior, as paint is chipping and it could be cleaned up a bit. Won't be returning here.

Came here for dinner with two out of towners and it was everyone's first visit. Guinness from the tap with my dinner, can't beat that! I had the bleu cheese burger, because I've recently become obsessed with bleu cheese and have been wanting it on a burger forever. IT WAS SO GOOD! The burger was huge and super meaty, but cooked just right. I said medium rare and it was definitely getting close to rare in there. Terrific. It was super messy and the bleu cheese dressing was starting to get all over the place and my tomato and lettuce were slipping out. That's a good sign in some ways, but I also ended up with just meat and bleu on the bun, no veggies. Kind of a bummer. The potato salad which I got on the side was pretty terrific, and they only gave me a very little bit, but that was kind of perfect because my burger was huge. Just plain huge, and like, $10.

Oh my... i don't really go to Seal beach so after having a pitcher of beer from Hooters in Long Beach we decided to go in this area and meet up with a friend... We only ordered alcohol here, who wants to eat anyway? Its all about empty calories and beer belly! I only ordered 3 beers and 2 mixed drink... I paid like 24 bucks so its not too bad... I'll be back if i'm not asian....

This place is for coming here late night with friends. Ordering good Irish food and good beer sitting in front of the fireplace. It can get loud from the people around you but it's a good place to hang out and talk. It gets very busy Thursday through Saturday nights but its fun. On the days where it it is not busy, you'll just see locals having a beer chatting away with the bartender. Once in a while you'll see mom's dancing by their table and being sexy lol. Overall a great place to have a beer and talk. Watch out for cops on late nights. They patrol this place like crazy.

Truly disappointing. Went for breakfast. Had the veggie omelette. It arrived cold and the egg rubbery. Asked for brown rice in lieu of potatoes which is an option on the menu. It too arrived cold and undercooked. Last time I was here I ordered the huevos rancheros. It was watery and the egg whites were so undercooked they were still clear. I don't know why I came back. What a mistake. And the poor excuse for a manager they have - don't get me started. Hey on the bright side - the coffee was good

Don't know why I come back but I do. Decided to take a few friends in for some cold ones, went through the bar and sat in the court yard outside To my surprise this is also the smoking area. Just a steady decline for this place. 18 months and something different will be here or different management will have it.Holy crap two guys just lit off cigars in this tiny court yard. We are leaving without getting our next round!

Omalleys is our go to pub when we want to just hang out, people watch and have a pint..or 6. We usually frequent Omalleys toward the end of the night when the dinner crowd has turned into the drunken college kid crowd. They now have a DJ on saturday nights and nothing is more fun then watching white people dance. I've yet to have a meal or any food at Omalleys so my rating is based strictly on the beer and entertainment (uh the whole white people dancing is MY KIND of entertainment). So def a nice place to hang.

Came here with my baby girl and ex-hubs for a drink and bite to eat after spending some time at the beach (me and my daughter played hookie - so what?) and the service was sub-par and their "to die for" sausage rolls were mediocre at best. Sadly, even my lemon drop martini was weak. Not sure I will come back here. Odd, because every other time I've come here I had a decent time. Nothing to write home about, but still... Ok. Sigh.

I have only been here once and I only drank beer so with that in mind its a great looking place with a decent selection of beers with reasonable prices.

Not much to say. The service is just OK and there are always way too many dudes. Rather go to the many other good bars in HB. That is all...

My first time here it was pretty low key not crowded. The waitress assigned to us SUCKED! ignored us, we had to hunt her down to place our order. I ordered a salad and the other people in my party had sandwiches They liked their food and the salad was good except the dressing I asked for Honey Mustard dressing and it was literally mayonnaise with mustard...gross. Prices were a but high for lunch menu as well.

(1)Chris D.
(3)Dave G.

(2)Mark W.
(4)John J.
Food is just o.k. Service can be somewhat slow. It is as if the servers dont really care. I felt they did not know the menu and were confused at times. Spend your money elsewhere.
(1)Anna G.

(5)Sabrina G.
Fridays....this is the spot to be :) Clam Chowder and fish & chips plus you can catch the games on tv.
(5)Darlene B.
(4)Dan C.
Had a great lunch there in December 2011 with my wife. Service was great and friendly and the food was very good. Nothing but nice to say about it.
(4)Benjamin S.
(1)On M.
this place does not even deserve a star. they served a drink we did not want and then did not even bother to change it. worst place in seal beach
(1)D B.
(2)Angie F.
(4)Bondzilla B.
Great service great ambiance great employees. All bars should be like them.
(5)Jason J.

(4)Adrian M.

(3)Ed C.
(1)Sue A.
Food was horrible. Nachos tasted like burnt toast. Bartender was rude and made racist comments! Won,t go back.
(2)Garrett L.
(4)Matt K.
This is a classic Irish Pub with great food, too! I'm trying not to drink beer, but couldn't resist the draught Guiness. Great hamburger. I had the mahi mahi special, which was served on greens with veggies, and it perfectly hit the spot.
(4)Yvonne C.
We went for breakfast, and we were not impressed. It was overpriced for the taste and amount of food served. The best part of our experience is the location. We drove by on a Saturday night, and the place was hopping! Could be a fun night out.
(3)Greg S.
Sub par on what we ordered. I had chili cheese baked potato. Came with hardly any chili. My son liked the fish and chips. Service was average. Wife had half blt with salad, also so so. Wouldn't go again.
(3)Alicia C.
Finally came here the other night with some friends, and it was packed! Great selection of beers, the staff is very friendly and attentive- they are very aware of when you are in need of another drink! TV's are posted all around so you can catch a game! Not sure about the food, but i'm sure it would be good.
(4)Jeff F.
(2)Jon-paul N.
Great music if you like loud djs playing the late 90's to current top 40. Drink service was good, but the mix drinks were a little weak for my liking. Would go back again, but be prepared for some second hand smoke from the people smoking out just outside.
(3)Vivian C.
I love this place!
(4)Jenn S.
(2)Hazel Q.
(4)Leeann M.
Fish Tacos are delicious, fresh, and decidedly NOT fishy. Service is generally attentive. Go on a weeknight to avoid the crowds.
(4)John H.
An Irish bar that usually gets a pretty decent crowd. There are two rooms, one with pool tables and darts with its own bar. Another room is more lounge and has a bigger bar... The prices are OK.
(3)Rachel S.
(3)Enea O.
(4)Aaron K.
Love this place - great atmosphere and I love thier Fish n Chips. Plus a prefect pint of Guiness. What more could you ask for
(5)Noah S.
(3)Tony C.
Had a nice date their last Saturday. Really like all the variety of appetizers and menu items. Everything we tried was delicious (the shepherd's pie was bland looking, but actually tasty). The service was great.
(4)Scott D.
This is the most well rounded gastro pub (Irish) in 30 miles of beach area..only Kings Head on Santa Monica is better. Great for brunch order the crab cake benedict on special if you can.
(4)David M.
I've been here in the morning, noon and night, and can honestly say I've never had a good time. The food is alright, but nothing to write home about. The service is decent at best. I'd rather eat somewhere else when I'm on Main St.
(2)Myrna J.
(4)Danny D.
I like the Guinness stew mmmmmm thats all I remember it was sooo good.
(4)Irene O.
Pretense.. pretense pretense.
(1)Heather H.
I'm a fan! They had a Hawaiian burger which they replaced with a gardenburger patty for me and it was so good! Also they had a lot of Irish food, which my companions enjoyed very much. Fun Irish pub atmosphere. Downtown Seal Beach is a fun place, and this is a great pub!
(4)Matthew V.
Love it.
(4)Chrissy K.
(4)Donna D.
(3)Trent R.
Good place for breakfast or lunch. Good eggs Benedict, and good Irish Benedict. Decent Mexican dishes, very good bleu cheese burger and very good chili dog. Decent service, good Bloody Marys.
(3)Vanessa R.
(4)Melissa S.
(5)Brent F.

Two glasses of Smithwick's with the cool relatives, then I GTFO.

(4)Eric V.
(4)C S.
Really, don't go here for food unless you're just drunk or super freaking hungry. Just get the beer!
(2)Lisa Z.
(3)Boe T.
We went there on new years day monday after a family bike ride. The service was great, the food was good, the beer was cold AND they had the ducks football game on. A win win all around.
(4)Robert H.
(2)Peter B.

(3)Nathan I.
(5)Laura V.
fucking ADORRRRABLE set up. the backyard area is gorgeous. very nice atmosphere. like a little village courtyard. but fuck those drinks are expensive. and that crowd ain't really my thing. i felt like i was holding back my natural drunken self because these people would not enjoy it. and honestly, i'd rather be drinking a $2 40oz in a dirty backyard with my friends at a party and some guy pissing his name out on a wall.
(3)K G.
(4)Chris D.
I've always loved this place. The employees are great. The wood paneling, fire place and furniture make it feel as if you're in an actual Irish Pub. They have a wide selection of beers and several large flat screens to watch as you suck them down. The food is "so so" which is the only reason I don't give this place 5 stars.
(4)Reagan W.
Clean bathrooms. Good drink prices. Variety. Music. It is no wonder that I have spent many a night before Thanksgiving in the annual reunion tradition at this place. Its a great atmosphere where one can go in for a decent meal or go late for a fun party.
(4)Mary N.
place was lively and sounded great in the pub/bar area but if you're looking for a spot where you can chat with dinner companions skip it.
(3)Bill F.
Don't go here. Everyone that works here thinks they run seal beach or something but no one that even works there lives in seal. No love here if u want to just have some fun with friends and have a few drinks....just a bunch of tuff guys and girls that think they know everything here.
(1)Alfred A.
Tuesday night chicken special! Wednesday night Meat loaf special! great corned beef everyday! Service with a smile (mostly) , they have fox soccer and setanta sports channels! Ive never had a bad meal here.
(5)Jo E.
(4)brandon h.
my uncle, brian kyle, owns the place, so i might be a tad biased, but i love omalley's. i've been coming here ever since he opened it maybe 7 or 8 years back. the food is great. the back patio is my favorite. the fireplace adds a really awesome vibe. sometimes they open up the back booth and it turns into a stage where they have irish folk bands play on occasion. i remember for my great aunt celine's birthday we had her party at omalley's and the place was PACKED with just our family. crowded, loud, hectic, entertaining, drunken, amazing. my cousin kyle works here as a bar-back, courtney is a server, and her boyfriend, chris, is a bartender. say hi to them because they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. ps. if you ever get the urge/have the chance, reserve a time to stay at the bed-n-breakfast room that brian owns out back. it's that room up the stairs when you're in the back patio. it's small, it's cute, it's amazing. you get hammered at the bar at night, stumble up the steps, pass out, then crawl out in the morning to get breakfast. amazing.
(5)Mitchell K.
This is the place to go after good ride. Food is GREAT and so is the service. I got more help from the food runner than server, thats why I left out the fifth star. The food runner was very helpful and she made recommendations that were useful. I believe her name was Carla or Carley. Anyways thanks to a worth going experience.
(4)Sharon S.
(5)Michelle N.
(4)Donald P.
(4)Cliff A.
Went back for happy hour. Four glasses of wine and split a pretty good burger and fries for about $20. (Amount of fries was a skimpy). Like the patio in the back even though that's were all of the smokers go to shorten our lives.
(4)Theresa H.
(3)John S.
Hands down the best breakfast in or around Seal Beach and Long Beach. I always have the omelettes here and they never disappoint. I always get the home fries with that which are great as well. Their service is friendly and quick too. I place a high value on tasty breakfast at an affordable price and this place provides it!
(5)Noe'lle M.
went over to seal beach looking for a place that might have a good happy hour. so i stopped in here - and they don't really have a happy hour? just two appetizers. hot wings being one of them. also - the interior looks more like a marie calendars meets sports bar with some flags. i ordered a glass of wine and a turkey sandwich. the sandwich was bland and the cranberry sauce was a scoop out of a can. my husband was disappointed that they didn't have any good beers and his food was a let down also. perhaps it is just better to have a hard drink or wine when going in here. i was hoping for more- but it wasn't memorable.
(2)Lisa Marie M.
(4)Margie I.
(3)Hans F.
had the bangers and mash. the bangers were kinda hotdog like? not sure if that is how they are supposed to be?
(3)paul k.
Good service. Good food. We usually eat there for breakfast. Rude owner! We only saw him once the entire time and it was to complain about our kid who was playing with the basket of jam. I guess he has nothing better to do.
(2)Kim N.

ALI
(5)Kara I.
Best New England clam chowder I've had on the west coast! Service was great - friendly and knowledgable about the menu.
(5)Gretel C.
(4)Nick W.
Omalleys is a great spot to go drinking in seal beach. They have great bartenders and waitresses. They also have a kitchen serving "bar food" items until midnight. The restaurant is also a great place to eat. They have good daily specials and a menu typical of an Irish pub. Good food and good people!
(4)Garth E.
(3)Karen B.
(5)Pat D.
(4)Emberwild T.
(3)Ben L.
(2)Marissa L.
(3)George B.
(5)Amanda M.

(4)Kate D.
The food is always good here. I have ordered a number of items and haven't been disappointed. Good for larger or smaller groups. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends at night
(4)Dana M.
Need wet naps!!!! Lol..... Wings very messy, but good!!!! Need bigger more extensive happy hour.... Nice server
(4)Michael H.
(3)Charles R.
(5)N. S.
(2)Diane C.
The pastrami sandwich on rye was perfect. The Bloody Mary was spicy and had good flavors. The sweet potato fries were done to perfection. They were not greasy. They were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside.
(4)John L.
I grew up in seal and been going here since day one. I worked here for two years bar backing and know all the Kyles . I have mad respect for them. The manager with the mustache and the waitresses were rude and took way too long. Not cool. Bummed out how munch in went down hill.
(1)Rj S.
For the laid back and all around party people Come on over to O Malleys. From the friendly staff and awesome party atmosphere, O Malleys make any night Turnt Up! My friends and I have been going here for 3 years and it has always been a blast.
(5)C R.
(1)Brad D.
Food is great however the service is lacking. Had to find our server numerous times to order stuff I think it's better in the bar but in the front not again
(4)Ross I.
(4)Hannah Y.
(1)Thomas R.
Nice place, I think I was in during happy hour, didn't ask. $6.75 for a pint of guinness , doesn't get much better than that, and for those who care they pour it right.
(5)Anais T.
(5)Brian R.
Still one of the best places to have a pint of Guinness, poured properly! Grab a table next to large open aired entrance to enjoy sea breeze. For cold nights, there is a cozy little fire pit in back. Great place over all.
(4)Rebecca W.

(5)Ryan C.
(3)Sonny S.
If i could give it a half star i would bit i didnt even get to eat at this establishment, after seating ourselves in the bar area for about 15mins during several employees walking by us and never once acknowledging us even though buisness was really slow, we decided to just walk out
(1)Angelica R.
I went hear today for lunch and got horrible service. We waited 15 minutes for a waitress and no one showed up. It smelled gross and they did not care to take care of us so we left. Bad service !!!!
(1)Jenn T.

(4)Mahe D.
Generous portions of well presented, tasty food! The location is impeccable, and sports a turn of the century decor, with huge shuttered windows drinking in the ocean breezes on most days. Ultra friendly staff, can't wait to go back
(5)Lynn S.

I've been here twice and its been great I highly recommend the eggs florentine fantastic and the staff very nice beautiful place to start the day
(5)Jenn T.
(3)Vianney B.
A little disappointed in the turkey/corned beef sandwiches. So I would stay away on st Patrick's day unless all you want to do is eat. Lots of people and looks like a good time. But i was hear to eat and had to leave.
(1)Timothy G.
Came here for a couple a drinks. Great atmosphere, great vibes. To sum up O'Malley's in one word..."Devin." Best waiter/bartender I've ever experienced. Worth ever penny.
(5)Andrea B.
Nice place, staff but one hour street parking sucks. More like a sports bar, television showing the game, etc. Cool spot.
(4)Javier M.
Not cool.
(2)Jerome H.
Good Irish Bar. Nice ambiance and décor with a great staff and they pour a nice pint of Guinness. Can't wait to go back and try the food. Also, the other patrons in the bar all seemed to be enjoying the place and the food with no morons making a scene! The hostess and our waitress were very nice which means to me "good management".
(5)Zene B.
(2)Terry M.
I've been going to O'Malley's on Main for a long time (20+ years) and I just need to say, there is no better place for great food, fun, people and the perfect Guinness pour.
(5)Emily P.
(2)Peter C.
Cons: Food portion sizes are small and prices are at the top end of bar food... Pros: They have some great beers on tap, I've heard a couple of great bands here and Its really close to New York Pizza so you don't have to eat their food Conclusion: There are some way better bars on main street :-/
(3)Elyse W.
(4)Erica B.
(1)Lisa L.
They got nice dinning room with all wood. Always come here and have their corned beef, however, I decided to try the 12 oz pork chop yesterday and it was tasty. They got a dink called Hot Toddy which I always get during winter time or when I have a cold, it helps me feel better.
(4)Jack R.
(5)MB L.
(1)Rochelle B.
I like this place. It's very comfortable and inviting. The waitress was very personable too. The food was good and I had a descent drink. I walked by and ate here by chance. I wouldn't mind coming back. Thank you for good service!
(4)Lilia P.
Been here twice and I will come back, service is great! Food is amazing, prices are good. The entertainment is awesome! You have to at least give it a try.
(4)Mary S.
(4)Stephanie A.
(3)Christopher S.
...Just left Mike, the manager... I had a gift card that was demagnetized and showed ZERO balance as an error. I was honest with him about the balance (to the best of my knowledge) and he replaced the card on the spot. Good news travels fast...bad news travels faster ...this was Very good news! Thank you Mike
(5)Kevin D.
(2)Shannon B.
(1)Colin R.
(3)James G.
Great Irish bar. A staple in Seal Beach.
(4)John C.
Corn beef and cabbage was weak. Cabbage was still raw and hard. Small portion of corned beef for usd 14.95. Tried to get in the pre-St. Patrick's Day spirit, but mission was not accomplished.
(2)Megan C.
(1)Sarah T.
The service was good here and I really enjoyed the atmosphere but the food really wasn't memorable. I had a omelette that was mediocre at best. The best part of the meal was the hash browns which you generally just cant go wrong with anywhere.
(3)Doug S.
(3)Tim N.
(4)Rob M.
Food is still good, but a month of diffident, inattentive service despite being not obviously overburdened takes away a star and out of our regular Saturday breakfast rotation. Unfortunate.
(3)David L.
The turkey burgers here are fantastic. The chili was a little too hot for me. I can't remember if there was a warning on the menu but that was very spicy! Couldn't eat more than 2 bites of it. If you love spicy though I'm sure you'll love it. Looking forward to coming back here. The waitresses are very nice too
(4)Monica P.
Food prices where good, beer selection is awesome, and service was amazing. Loved the decor but not a big fan of the cramp space we had. We will be back.
(4)Amelia B.
Get the Irish stew! The flavor is savory and smooth and the portion is huge. Ask for additional meat though. I only had approximately 5 cubes of meat--hence 4 stars instead of 5.
(4)Sally S.
Popped in here today... comfortable place. The bartender, Tommy, was helpful and quick to service a pretty full bar. I will definitely be back!
(4)Remie M.
good ol' los al alumni watering hole! everytime, I set foot in this establishment I run into someone that has graduated from Los Al. It's fun to catch up with ppl u basically grew up with. This place has cool bartenders. The drinks are really stiff and worth the price. Parking can be a hassle at times. But overall, its worth it.
(4)Sean O.
Really great atmosphere, always enjoy the time spent there. Nice selection of beers, both craft and Irish/English selections on tap. Food is good, not great, but better than most pub food you'll find.
(4)Kristina C.
Nice spot to have a drink or a quick bite to eat. Average food but chill atmosphere Had the shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were nice and large! Really good too.
(4)Tom W.
Just OK Pros: Guinness on Tap! Nice Decor w/ Court and Fireplaces Full Bar Decent Prices Cool Ambiance Cons: Food was Average at Best
(3)Billy C.
Great place! Love the outside patio! It's nice inside and is better than most of the neighboring bars (aka the Irisher). The service was great. The bartenders were personable and fast service! Will definitely be back!
(5)Lola L.
(2)Drew P.
Definitely diggin' this place. Good Irish ambience. The staff has done a fine job with the service the times I've been here. Sometimes it's noisy and sometimes it's quiet. They have those good bar steak fries here. I might rate higher in the future if I come more regularly.
(4)Chris J.
M. wanted to go to Tatalum on a Sunday, which we found out was a complete mistake as it was crowded as hell.
(3)Maria T.
There really isn't anything AMAZING about this spot. Yes, its local and convenient, but there isnt anything special when it comes to the food and they easily become overwhelmed when it becomes busy. One highlight is that they have a great spicy dirty bloody mary,
(2)Jeff S.
(1)J C.
Always a great place to go to! Had dinner last night. Great cobb salad and husband had a reuben sandwich. Both were tasty. We sat in the bar at the end of happy hour. Still seats available.
(4)Aaron K.
two stars because the corned beef sandwich and sweet potato fries weren't half bad....the service here was terrible.
(2)Nancy S.
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent atmosphere! The Halibut Fish n chips were great! You will not be sorry!
(4)Ross I.
Sean is friendly and makes us feel very welcomed. We were just at O'Malley's a couple of days ago and he was so great! We had so much fun that we decided to move our Sunday dinner party of 14 here. It was a great move. Everyone had a great time. Can't wait for our next visit with Sean and the "Guinness Perfect Pour!"

(4)Jason M.
(1)Jennifer C.
Service is fast n friendly. Food fresh and tastie.
(4)Andrew R.
(4)Bob A.
Best pub in Seal Beach. Everybody knows your name. Bryan the owner is a true classic Seal Beach guy. The Chamber of Commerce has their meetings there. Omally's on Main is the home base for the home team in Seal Beach.
(5)David R.
Do it!
(5)Elizabeth O.
(3)Alia H.
we ordered a pub burger and got a western. The bar tender did not know how to make a specialty cocktail Side car. They want me to tell how to make it, Did not have internet to look at the reciepe, finally brought one and it was too too strong, Lots of flys and stick table
(1)Michael Y.
(4)Sean M.

Great food. Fun crowd. Cider on tap. Customer service was amazing (John was my bartender) and the food was pretty good. I give a 5 star.... Wish there were more stars to give.

One of our great local spots great fish and chops

(5)Jeanilee S.

(2)Emily M.

(2)Nim N.

(4)Shannon A.

(3)Amy P.
(3)Stevie W.
this is a meh review.. the burgers are awesome. their sandwiches are good.

(3)Amanda P.

(2)Brandon S.
(3)Vicky Z.
(5)Daniel M.
Their servers are always the best. No doubt. Their portions have gotten worse over the years. They skimp, for sure. Great place to meet up but don't expect a pleasing meal. They don't do that anymore.
(2)Lynette B.

I like having breakfast here. Service it's not consistent but for the most part it's a nice friendly ambiance.

Here for MNF tonight and ordered the grilled cheese. Great portion and it came with chicken soup which was awesome! It could have been melted more and a little hotter but still great! Staff and atmosphere always great!!

Food, Service and Atmosphere were all excellent. We had the Fish & Chips and Irish Stew. Yummy! Great Irish pub!

Main St. has got it goin' on.

(4)Jorri N.
(5)Adolfo N.
(3)Karla U.
(4)Nikki M.
(2)Kyle H.
Definitely my favorite pub.
(5)Chris S.
Best of the Irish pubs on Main. Great drinks!
(5)Lauren B.
Definitely my favorite mimosa spot on Main. They give you your own cute bottle of Korbel and a bit of OJ for like $6. So perfect sitting on the patio on a sunny afternoon!
(4)Andrew H.
(3)Matt M.

Won't be returning here.

over priced and sub par food. in a non-irish "irish" pub.
